Re: They Tell Me I Need This Machine
The anger no doubt comes from LACK of SLEEP - I get no more than 2hrs at a stretch - Many nights that's ALL I get - Try that for a month or two and see what that does for your disposition. Actually I did it for years and years. It sucks. The problem with getting mad is that it doesn't change anythi...

Dreamstation segment ending
Quick question, hopefully. Last night I had a couple of segments end and new ones start for no apparent reason. When I looked at the flow I noticed a couple of gaps one lasted less than 1 second, the other 15 seconds. There's just a gap on all the charts. This has happened before but not usually mor...

Re: At sleeep study, were you hoping you had apnea?
Then I started wondering, are others like me in hoping to have apnea and be scripted a machine to have some relief? Never thought I would want to bad to be tied to a machine at night but have my feeling changed. Come on ResMed I was completely surprised. I went in to be checked for Periodic Leg Mov...

I'd rather have a service monkey that puts it back on for me.palerider wrote:*GROWLS* "put your mask back on or I'll bite your face off!"Chevie wrote:Go for a service dog.

Re: semi-awake events?
off the lcd, real time. i'll get the software. You can get a lot of false positives during either transition from sleep/wake. Checking it every 15 minutes, I'm surprised it wasn't higher. I always get a bunch of events in the half hour to an hour before I get up. I usually wake up and doze on and o...

Re: Removing mask while asleep
I've been using a cpap for about 2 weeks now. I use the dreamwear mask and really like it overall. However, I've noticed the past few nights that I wake up and I've removed the mask (SH says usually between 30-60 mins). I have no recollection of removing it, but I wake up and realize it's off and p...

Re: Central apnea question
Thanks, Yeah I'm definitely on meds and I'm sure that doesn't help. I take 15 mg Ambien, 3 mg Lunesta and 2 mg Lorazepam every night. With varying dosages it's been that way for quite a few years. Unfortunately if I don't take them I simply won't sleep. I've tried to do without and have gone past 48...

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"
I have read a book about map making titled "How To Lie With Maps". There could (or may be) a similar book about lying with "studies". Everyone should be aware of junk science and how to identify it. It's called How to Lie with Statistics, originally published in the 50s. https://www.amazon.com/How-...

Re: Central apnea question
How would you rate your sleep quality for this night? Wake often? No more than a few minutes before the break, at least not that I remember. Quality, kind of low, I do have some foggy memories of awareness but nothing like actually awake. It sounds like it's not very predictable as far as pressure,...

Central apnea question
Quick question, well, hopefully quick. When pressure starts causing CAs can they gradually build up at the same pressure or does pressure have to hit a threshhold and there they are? Do they go down again once pressure is lowered? Without posting a bunch of charts I've noticed something. I've been r...

Re: AirSense 10 - can one change cut off time?
Side question: in Sleepyhead, the term "Clear Airway" is not defined. In my case it also seems rare; should its relative absence be of concern? Should it be less rare and does it critically impact other numbers? If so, what does it signify and how can that number be improved? Clear Airway means tha...

My mask has been bugging me and I'm waiting on a replacement mask to be delivered today so I decided to sleep last night without the machine. I did however wear an oximeter. My sleep study only showed an AHI of about 9 but the SpO2 levels were low. I've wondered about the accuracy of the sleep study...

Actually when I empty it I hold it over the bathtub and just shake it.Controlshift wrote:Is there a trick to emptying the last bit of water from the humidifier in the morning? I have to shake it like crazy and water goes everywhere
