Re: Training Mouth to Stay Closed - Looking for Advice

This subject is near and dear to my heart. It was one of the things that I thought for sure would be the end of CPAP for me. My precious husband, in an attempt to support me through the seemingly impossible transition to CPAP, made the exact DIY chin strap that you describe after I showed him that v...

Re: New to Dreamwear

I have been using the DreamWear mask since 07/14 and I agree with you that it is the least uncomfortable mask I've tried. I have had to decrease my humidity from 3-4 to 1 with this mask. I'm not sure why I require less humidity than with the AirFit P10, but I do. Also, I have had that whistle wake m...

Re: 8 months and still struggling

And just an FYI; My sleep doctor said they've had clinic trials on the DreamWear mask and find it to be less effective. I'm surprised to hear that the DreamWear mask is less effective. But what I have found is comfort is the key to compliance. Any mask that a patient finds tolerable or even slightl...

Re: New to CPAP - Got a cold the first night!

I say that's strictly coincidence... The CPAP did not cause your cold. You must have had something brewing already and just happened to start having symptoms the same time you started CPAP.

Re: Should Trump Drop Out

How dare anyone try and "blame" the mainstream republican party for any "perceived" failure of the worst president in American history, Barack Hussein Obama! Obama gotten EVERYTHING he ever asked for from the RINOs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obama got... The massive pork-u-lus spending bill (almost $900 million...

Re: Dreamwear Head Gear

I had the same problem when I first started using the DreamWear mask. Three things helped immensely: 1. I changed from a medium to a small frame. It is very important that you have the correct frame size. Watch this video re: fitting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58jWIeg_VlY Proper frame size sta...

Re: F&P Pilairo Q Nasal Pillow -Switched to DreamWear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58jWIeg_VlY Make sure your frame is the correct size. This video was very helpful to me. I initially had the medium frame and found that it was actually just the slightest bit too large. Now that I have the correct sized frame and cradle, I am in love with my DreamWear!

Re: Do I actually have sleep apnea?

I tried to ignore it, too. I was diagnosed as a newlywed and I refused to wear that mask to bed! It just didn't seem right!! But I finally came to the point of desperation because of exhaustion and decided to embrace the necessary treatment. So I set forth to do what ever it took to make it work for...

Re: Dream Wear Mask

I'm 5 months in and have tried 6 different masks. I thought I had settled on the popular AirFit P10 but I couldn't help but think it could get better. I had had a few nights where I felt claustrophobic (I have to tape, too... so plugging my nostrils on top of that made me anxious some nights.). I re...

Re: Hose management devices: worthwhile or worthless?

Thank you, Michelle! I figured I wasn't seeing the best representation of this community. I was not planning on responding again until I was accused of being a DME nurse and not a true apnea patient. That infuriates me. You know absolutely nothing about me, DreamStalker, so I am going to take a mome...

Re: Hose management devices: worthwhile or worthless?

Wow... I gave my two cents which is all that was asked. I don't understand the need to be so nasty and judgmental. This was my first time with this forum and now my last. I have better things to do with my time. You people are unnecessarily rude.

Re: Hose management devices: worthwhile or worthless?

Yes, the DIY version is less expensive. But the hose buddy is less noticeable. I have tried to make my bedroom look less cluttered which isn't easy with all the new equipment, hoses, etc... if that makes sense. For me, it is worth the extra few $$ for it to be neater looking. To each his own!! =o)
