Re: Best Travel machines
I have had the the Air Mini for about five years and I love it. No matter trip length, I travel light, carry-on only, and hauling my beloved but big machine was definitely slowin’ my roll. I have used the humidifier pods that Resmed makes but they are expensive and I don’t seem to need much humidifi...

Re: Will this ruin my precious CPAP?
Thanks, all. I don’t seem to need the humidity. I did use it for the first couple of years. I have clear sinuses when I wake in the AM. Then it is all downhill from there.
I will put the sponge by the air filter and see if it works. I don’t want to harm My Precious.

Will this ruin my precious CPAP?
I have tried everything for nasal congestion over the last 40 years including every pill, spray, and inhaler known to CVS plus three years of fruitless allergy shots. My CPAP helps, but sometimes takes 30-40 minutes. Today I put one drop of pure eucalyptus oil on a cosmetic sponge, dropped it in my ...

Re: Can CPAP cause congestion?
Thanks, guys. I never humidify, works for me. I will ask them to start tweaking.

Can CPAP cause congestion?
My mom, my three siblings and I are all now on CPAP. Mom has always complained that it causes congestion. She is indeed incredibly congested when she gets up in the morning, although she has no allergies and no sinus conditions during the day. We have always assumed CPAP could not be causing it. She...

Re: What Triggered Your Need for CPAP?
I would wake with hellish migraines that then continued into the daytime. The neurologist kept me on Imitrex and other heavy duty migraine drugs for years, even though I asked him early in the process if it could be oxygen deprivation, given that (1) I snored and (2) I had a mom and sis with OSA. No...

Re: Honestly, how do you know when to replace gear?
That's kinda how I feel, Julie. It smells of a racket. But then, I'm still wearing 35-year old tee-shirts. I am sometimes almost irrational about recycling and waste, and it gets worse as I get older. So if there is a reason for switching out gear -- if, say, the nose pillows dry rot in a way I can'...

Honestly, how do you know when to replace gear?
So I have been consistently using CPAP just over a year. I still have all my original equipment, and it seems fine. I do have a replacement reservoir -- seems like a necessity in case of cracking -- and two sets of medium pillows I rotate. Also a set of small pillows that I sometimes like better, fo...

Re: Hurricane Matthew
I am in the RDU area and we are doing pretty well. Some storm damage, a harrowing night, but didn't lose power. As the storm bore down on us, and the power started blinking, it occurred to me that I had never notified Duke Energy that I required a CPAP. SweetTeaGal, did you? Does it matter? I am not...

Re: Sleep apnea
Shifting hormone levels can certainly cause heart palpitations (and anxiety) though few doctors seem to grasp this. Fertility doctors know it, and monitor it diligently. If you chart your cycles, heart issues, and breathing issues for a few months, you will probably be able to see the correlation an...

Re: nasal pillows and zits
So sorry. I have this issue, though I am prone to acne. Yes, they hurt! Try putting a little Zapzit cream or Clearasil under the nose before bed. Or you might get by with just a dab hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball. Be sure the pillows are not too big, and seated well against your nostrils. Good l...

Re: Good Apps that Track Snoring
We adjusted mine all the way out. No luck. Mine was a boil-n-bite, I had to pay out of pocket. But I thought it would be well worth it to avoid CPAP. I was wrong. I love my CPAP. Hated the thing on my teeth. It was a waste of several hundred dollars, but I was traveling overseas for work a lot, and ...

SnoreLab, ITA. Wonderful little thing. Sadly, it made it plain to me that my dental appliance was NOT doing the job. Hope you fare better. Good luck.

Re: A whirlwind last night.
No, it was definitely high pressure. Mask was tight, and I was wide awake. Wide awake for at least 15 minutes. It happened again last night around 3 AM. I was bolt awake from 3 until 4. If I relaxed my cheeks, the pressure blew them out like balloons. It didn't relent until I shut the machine off --...
