Discolored cpap mask still good?

I was doing some cleaning today and when I took out my extra cpap masks they were discolored. Would it be worth it to try to clean them? I get a new mask every 6 months. However, I had a few extra's that I barely used (2 different full-face, and 1 nasal) that I keep for in case my nose gets complete...

Would sinusitis blockage show up on ahi score?

I was wondering about this. If I use a nasal mask but have bouts of sinusitis flare-ups would it show up in the ahi scores? I commonly need to sleep a few more hours after waking up without the cpap. My sinusitis can fluctuate and aren't always stuffy before I go to sleep. I've tried a full face mas...

Re: How often do I really need to clean tube and water chamber?

I try to clean the tube once a week. For the water holder I try to only put enough water for 2-3days. My nasal mask I try to do everyday but sometimes I might go a few days without washing it. But I've used alcohol prep pads or a cotton ball soaked in isopropyl alcohol to clean it.

Re: cleaning of CAP

My resmed guide recommends replacing the water, and cleaning the nasal piece every night. Then for the hose and tank once a week. I sometimes just use the same water for a few days straight. If that happens I take it out of the machine and leave it slightly open so it gets some air. As for the hose,...

Waking up due to sudden pressure increase?

Any one else have this problem sometimes? This has happened to me the past two days. I'm not sure why because my nose felt fine. I would imagine it should only increase if my sinuses were congested but they weren't. I have a resmed autoset + nasal mask. The range I currently have set is between 7 - ...

Nasal mask vs pillows (share your experience on both)

If you've tried both can you share your experience? The nasal mask is the only one I can tolerate so far but I still end up waking up to adjust it quite a bit. It seems it tends to rise up and the bottom ends up partially blocking my nose so I end up waking up so I can shift it back down. The few fu...

Any one else dealing with chronic sinusitis?

I can't seem to cure my sinusitis. It keeps coming back and affects my ability to use my cpap. I've tried meds, nasal sprays/rinses, and even had a turbinate reduction surgery. None of them worked completely. The congestion keeps coming back intermittently. I guess the next step for me is to get all...

Re: Distilled Water for Humidifier

I try to rinse it out every night but sometimes I forget and go a few days using the same water. I haven't noticed any issues from it. I usually don't even need more water since I set my humidity at level 3. Sometimes I just fill it up with just enough water and rinse it out every night.

Getting used to a full mask vs nasal?

Should there be a big difference in comfort between a full vs nasal mask? For the past 8 weeks or so I've been using a nasal mask with some okay results. I had a couple decent nights with it but most of them I had trouble staying asleep. I kept waking up during the night to adjust the mask. I had al...

Re: Hows my sleepyhead data look?

I probably should have mentioned it on my first post. I just started therapy about a week ago which is why there's a bunch of empty dates. I'm just frustrated because it has actually made my sleep worse. I guess I need to just tough it out for at least a month. My follow up is about 6 weeks from now.

Re: Hows my sleepyhead data look?

I'm not actually sleeping much. A few of those days I probably was lying in bed with the mask on for 3hrs. Then when I do fall asleep I wake up about 1-2hrs later. There were some small "naps" in there were okay which made me hopeful. I've been awake for almost 2 days now. I just tried to go to slee...

Hows my sleepyhead data look?

My sleep for the past week have been horrible. Edit: I just started therapy about a week ago which is why there are empty days. My next follow up is 6 weeks from now. My initial prescribed settings are 6 - 20 for the pressure range, epr 1 (I just put it on 2), and I've been using the humidity at 6-7...

Is it normal for it take longer and feel harder to exhale?

I'm still a user (it's been a week). I have a apap with a range of 6 - 20. Exhaling feels like it takes several seconds while inhaling feels normal. Is it suppose to feel this way? From my research it seems like changing the epr levels might help with it. But I guess what I'm really trying to ask is...

The pamphlet I got from my respiratory tech says to use water that has been boiled for 10 minutes if I don't have access to distilled water.

New user. It feels harder to breathe with APAP.

It's only been about a week so far for me but it seems like I'm actually not getting much sleep at all. I've been feeling more tired than usual. I think I'm staying awake more because of the mask. I'm using a nasal mask with the resmed airsense10 auto with a pressure range of 6 to 20, humidity 7, an...
