Re: CPAP to test for sleep apnea

Here's the sleepyhead data from last night. I slept nearly 5 hours with it on auto from 6-20 and my AHI was 0.82. I'm inclined to chalk it up as proof that I don't have sleep apnea, along with not having any symptoms (no daytime sleepiness, minimal snoring only when I have allergies, no mental fog, ...

Re: Anyone watch Modern Family Tonight?

I watched it and thought it was actually pretty good. Cam's CPAP was a portable Transcend one, which is the same one I have as a backup. I think it's good to have sleep apnea out there as a real condition that needs to be treated. Too many people have never heard of it or don't know that it needs tr...

CPAP to test for sleep apnea

My husband has sleep apnea and we purchased a Resmed AirSense 10 for him. However, we still have his rental CPAP (a Philips Respironics One + Philip Wisp nasal mask) and since we're paid up until next week, I thought I would take the opportunity to test myself on it. My father had sleep apnea and I'...

Re: To woman who wants to self-test with father's machine

Hi. I wanted to self-test with my husband's machine, but I think you're talking about me! I'll post it again. No worries!

CPAP to test for sleep apnea

My husband has sleep apnea and we just bought an AirSense 10 for him. However, we still have his rental CPAP (a Philip Respironics System One + Philips Wisp nasal mask) for another week, and so I thought I might be able to use it for myself. See, my father had sleep apnea as well, and although I'm n...

Re: Easing hubby into CPAP

Thank you everyone for the answers! LSAT-- I live in Australia. We do have sleep specialists, but for years I couldn't convince my husband to go to one of them because he knew they would do a sleep study and he thought it was too much trouble for nothing. I took what I could get and we saw a pharmac...

Re: Especially for newly diagnosed - Dealing with Change

My story is a little different, because I don't have sleep apnea. My husband does. However I'm finding it really hard to deal with, whereas my husband seems pretty matter-of-fact about it and is more relieved at the prospect of better sleep. The reason I'm finding this so difficult to digest is that...

Easing hubby into CPAP

Hi all! My husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea last week, which was good in one sense because we finally have an answer for why he's so tired all the time, but it's also bad because I know how serious it can be. My father died because of complications caused by sleep apnea, so I want to ge...
