Re: Kenny's CPAP Thread

BTW, here's a trick (found on Quora.com) that really works to clear sinuses. It's ridiculous looking, but I swear by it: - Pinch your nose closed. - Hold your breath. You might even want to LIGHTLY bear down - Move your head forward and back like a pigeon or chicken, keeping it straight (don't look...

Re: Kenny's CPAP Thread

Hi Kenny - I'm very new to this world of CPAP. While looking over some of your thread I decided to look up Pur-Sleep Aromatherapy as I saw it noted in your sig. I have struggled with chronic sinus issues my entire life (now 47) and was wondering if you use the Aromatherapy to help such a problem?

Re: Trouble with leaks with full face mask when sleeping on side

I've been very successful side sleeping with my Simplus FFM. (link is in my sig) It took a few weeks to figure out but what worked best for me was to slide the mask down the bridge of my nose slightly. Since I've started doing this, I've had no leak issues unless I end up on my back at some point wh...

Re: Noncompliant Failure

I seem positive? YAY! I always feel like I am complaining. Thank you for saying that, dhoppe! I had PERFECT HEALTH for 47 years and had never really experienced sickness with others. (I never had children) So... while I *used* to be positive ... I recently hate myself and all the suffering and comp...

Re: Noncompliant Failure

Keep up the positive attitude and you'll do great! It would be totally worth the effort if you were able to download and use the Sleepyhead software that is mentioned though out the board here. These fine people will be able to help direct you to the most comfortable and efficient settings if they c...

Re: Newbie - will CPAP help with anxiety and cognitive function

Hi Riddeford - I thought I would add to what robysue said by just mentioning that I am now three weeks into my therapy and while I still feel sleepy during the day, I started to notice some improvements about two weeks in. Most noticeably, no more headaches and I am no longer experiencing muscle twi...

I wanted to take a moment to offer an update as well as some thanks. Thanks to everyone that commented on my OP and for all the tips and suggestions that can be found throughout these forums. Re: Strange results from sleep study

I thought I didn't sleep much during the study, ... I am confused as to why the pressure is drastically different. ... when technically I should be sleeping well at the 10 cm setting. rather than type it over, I'll point to these thoughts: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=111625&p=107226...

Re: Have I Been Properly Diagnosed?

I'm with the others, I would just turn the ramp up off. I've been on my therapy for 3 weeks now and have taken to it quite well. I prescription is fixed at 10 but I also started with a ramp up from 4. Based on suggestions I've seen here, I turned the ramp up off after the 4th night and haven't looke...

Re: Overwhelmed - don't understand the data

Seems like a lot of leak but I'm new too so I'll let someone else weigh in there.

I would certainly recommend getting the Sleepyhead software. I've been using it since I started my therapy just over a week ago and it has been quite insightful.

Re: Greetings All

First night in the books and feel it was successful. I don't necessarily feel rested but also don't feel terrible. A quick glance at the Sleepyhead data shows pretty good results across the board to a novice. I'll take some time this evening to upload the screenshots here for confirmation. For those...

Re: Greetings All

I'm ready to do this! Just got home with my machine and mask. Getting ready to download Sleepyhead so I can geek out and track the progress. Can anyone recommend a good starting point for humidity level?
