Re: Nasty chemical smell & burning nose -need help!

We have no HVAC vents in the house. We have wall heaters that never run at night.

It happened again last night. Felt like the inside of my nose was on fire, and the smell was nasty. Turned the CPAP off and everything was fine. Restarted an hour later and slept well the rest of the night.

Re: Nasty chemical smell & burning nose -need help!

No humidifier attached, so there is no humidity setting; power brick is on the floor well below the machine. I didn't try touching the machine to see if it was hot - I was totally focused on getting the mask off. I did try camouflaging the smell by putting a drop of essential oil on a tissue near th...

Nasty chemical smell & burning nose -need help!

Last night I was awakened at 1am by a nasty chemical smell and a horrible burning sensation inside my nose, and I have no clue what the cause might be. I was wearing my Bleep mask. The exact same thing happened a month or two ago, but that time I was wearing a Dreamwear mask. And in both cases, when...

Re: DC Travel CPAP/Battery for One Week Trek

My at-home machine is an Airsense 10 Autoset, but for travel I have a Resmed Airstart. For camping with the Airstart, I initially bought a Freedom Travel Battery from cpap.com. At a fixed pressure of 14, I only get about 13 hours, so I recently purchased a Maxoak battery from Amazon. Again at fixed ...

Re: capnloki - I hear that you're the battery expert!

While you're waiting for the expert, this is what I recently purchased after reading about it on this forum: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074N8G8C7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I don't use humidity or the heated hose, but this battery gives me more than 5 nights on one cha...

Re: CPAP noise advice needed - newbie

I've used a Dreamwear mask for 3 years, and decided to try the N30i when it became available in the US. I didn't like it for a couple of reasons - one being it was (for me) substantially noisier than the Dreamwear. The two masks are very similar - same basic design with a few differences. But I foun...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE

I have a barely-used Resmed N30i mask (worn 5-6 nights), standard size frame, along with 5 brand new sealed cushions for it (size small). Free, but you pay the postage. :-)

EDIT: It's been spoken for. :-)

The Dreamwear Full Face mask might work for you, it doesn't go over the nose at all:

Sleepyhead question for Mac users only

Anyone using Sleepyhead with MacOS 10.14 Mojave? My Mac laptop keeps reminding me to upgrade from 10.13 High Sierra, but I want to make sure first that Sleepyhead will still work. If you've been successful (or not) I'd appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks!

Re: ResMed N30i User Review

Longtime Dreamwear user here. I picked up my N30i a week ago, and used it for 5 nights. I had already made up my mind the N30i was going to be the perfect "upgrade" from the Dreamwear - diffused venting, a more stable cushion, and a stay-put headgear strap. And while it does have a more stable cushi...

Re: Anyone not use the humidifier?

I don't use the humidity any more. I don't like heated air, and without it I would often get rainout. So I tried turning off the humidity and was perfectly comfortable.

Re: New equipment recommendations

ResMed's replacement for the S9 is the Airsense 10 Autoset - it has the auto start/stop and auto-adjusting pressure, is very quiet, includes heated hose and built-in humidifier, and gives you full therapy data on an SD card. It and the Philips Respironics Dreamstation seem to be the two best-loved m...

Re: Side Sleeper pillows?

I also use a buckwheat pillow, which allows you to "punch" it into whatever shape you want - like thicker under your neck than under your head, and a "hole" where your mask lays while you're on your side. And it stays in the shape you create. But I also found the original pillow to be too big and to...

Re: Dreamwear to Amara View ?

I have a friend who has used the Amara View for two years and has a lot of trouble with leaks. He just recently switched to the Dreamwear full face mask, and is having an easier time controlling the leaks.

Re: Medicare

Medicare will pay for CPAP supplies, but they do require a yearly doctor visit and a new prescription each year. They also require you to use certain DME vendors, which vary for each area.
