Re: Just a Bit of ER Humor
Loved this. Had my second baby (34 years ago) by natural childbirth. Doc gave me novocain for the episiotomy but it started to wear off while he was stitching it up. I said "Wait, stop!" He looked up for an explanation and I said "I feel a little prick down there." Everyone in the delivery room, inc...

Re: Respironics DreamWear Full Face Mask Review
I was able to get this mask from Second wind; I got the fit pack because it looked like the only way to get the headgear. I've had it for a couple of weeks, I think, and it's finally adjusted to me (and I to it) and I can keep it on all night, and my results are good. I'm really happy with it; here'...

Re: Airport security and CPAP unit
Putting your machine in a ziplock is a great idea. Once when they wanted to swab my machine (for bomb residue?) They just reached in through the open end of the bag and touched the machine with the swab, no hands, gloved or otherwise, ever touched it. TSA agents are very used to seeing CPAP bags and...

Re: Airport security and CPAP unit
It varies, both by airport and by TSA agent. At Newark (my nearest airport) they NEVER want to look at it. At Bangor (in Maine, where I visit each summer) they ALWAYS look at it, and at everything else I’m traveling with. Best advice is to be prepared to show it and be glad if you don’t have to.

Re: ASV Success, But ...
I glance at the machine screen sometimes, but otherwise all my data is from SleepyHead. My doctor based her decision to get me tested for Complex Sleep Apnea on the Sleepyhead printouts I showed her. The data I put in the post above is not from the graphs, but from the box of different color stripes...

ASV Success, But ...
I’ve been on ASV for about two weeks. In that time, my SH results show ZERO Obstructive and Central Apnea’s, and ZERO Cheynne-Stokes. This is incredible, and very, very different from my first two years on CPAP. My AHI has not been over 5.00 even once. Again, incredible. I see the occasional Unclass...

SleepWeaver Cloth Mask - a few questions
I’m still in search of a great mask with minimal leaks, and I’m thinking of trying the SleepWeaver 3D nasal mask. If anyone out there has experience with this, or maybe a different cloth mask, I’m wondering 1. How do you clean these? If I hand wash in laundry detergent (as suggested), how long does ...

No visual hallucinations, fortunately, but I’ve experienced most of the other things described in the article.

Re: DreamStation Go - My Review
Hi Christian! I can answer some of your questionss. Yes, it is carried in another bag, but its easy to remove so it can be inspected, if asked. It fits easily in my carry on bag, the one I keep with me at my seat (not the one I put in the overhead compartment.) It is a little noisy, but that's not a...

Re: Dreamwear not working with chin strap
This is the best chinstrap EVER:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/breath ... strap.html
which I wear with my Dreamwear every night. I put the chinstrap on first.
Actually it's the only chinstrap I can wear, and I've tried many. The others all pop off my head or shift or just don't work.

Re: Air sense 10 has lost its mind
That really should have worked. It didn’t. This morning I restored the default settings, then put my pressure settings back in, and auto start and EPR, but left everything else at default. Still didn’t help. I did manage to find the power cord for my travel machine (still packed from last week’s tri...

Air sense 10 has lost its mind
It's always something. I had my ASV titration study three nights ago; the technician tried me on 2 FF makes before settling on good old Dreamwear. The first 2 masks leaked a lot, and I was aware of every breath, in and out, and that they were not in sync with my own breathing rythym. Next night at h...

Re: ASV Titration tomorrow: Machine Advice?
Thanks, Okie BiPAP. The list is hard to navigate, since none of them show ASV machines in their list of what they carry, but I guess I will get to know Medicare in time. I would love an online DME, but I didn’t see one on the list. I did see DME’s in numerous states, since northern New Jersey, where...

Exactly what I needed to know, thanks to both of you. You even answered questions I forgot to ask, like data retrieval options. The ResMed it is.
