Re: California Kaiser CPAP coverage?

I was born in a hospital called Kaiser in California years ago, and i buy all my cpap equipment on craigslist, offerup, and sometimes ebay. For sleep analysis, I use the the software often referred to on this website.

Re: ResMed AirSense 10 teardown

That is one awesome video! There is a third pressure sensor cone color black that fits to a white silicon receptacle between the blue motor silicone sleeve and the white silicon humidifier gasket where the humidifier fits in. This connection allows the sensor to take measurements through the grey tu...

Re: Got an ASV machine to play with. What settings should I use?

The pulsing is mostly undetectable but sometimes it pulses a little harder in cool down. I assumed it was testing system pressure to determine if someone was attached to the mask, so as to restart treatment. I thought the machines were always pulsing subtly to collect data for the machine algorithms...

Re: Got an ASV machine to play with. What settings should I use?

Maybe put the breathing rate chart under the mask pressure chart I think it is and see if you have respiratory rate troughs (slower breathing means a degree of awakeness) that correspond with high PS applied....for m e that is the ASV smoothing out "my stutter breathing" transitional sleep crap that...

ASV auto at the default settings, wow I tried that the first time and it was a rough ride but it was fun. Go for it!

Re: Got an ASV machine to play with. What settings should I use?

Everyone is different, and you didn't mention where your autoset titrated to cure your obstructive apneas, you just gave a min setting. Well if 11.8 was the autoset pressure that cured my OA and given my need for ASV I would use ASVauto settings of epap min of 11.8, ps min of 1.6 and ps max of about...

Re: SoClean question

But "bob" on TV sounds so smart with her foreign accent. I'd toss it out if I had bought one, and chalk it up as a cpap lesson learned.

Re: Cervical collar or neck brace?

I just get the cheap ones from Amazon. They last long enough, I guess, like 3 or months. I like the stiffer ones. Sorry I cant recommend a specific brand. The only issues I have with cervical collars usage is: 1. My teeth aren't properly aligned and having my mouth shut all night makes me aware of i...

Re: DME/insurance or buy online? Same price, what do I do?

I only get my ASV machines second hand. Much cheaper than the insurance route which for me would be cumbersome and expensive, if not impossible. I dont mind using my HSA for medical expenses and it is pre-tax and pre-soc sec taxes, but it may decrease your soc sec benefit later in life if you live l...
