Re: Irritated nostrils from extended CPAP usage

Hi all, Currently I use the P10, with fixed pressure around 6.5 + EPR 3, humidity at 5 and tube temp at 28C. I have no issue with falling asleep with cpap but I do wake up from it feeling my nostrils is getting more irritated overtime. I have read somewhere that because of the constant blast of air...

Re: Resmed airsense 10 change cdma/2g to 4G?

I need to get 6 hours minimum to meet FAA requirement. You are in a different situation from the OP. He needs to optimize his therapy, not demonstrate he is using the machine. I usually get 7 hours of sleep but the issues is if you get 5:59 minutes the FAA counts that against you only get 25% a yea...

Re: Auto Cpap and headache

Is there a way you can have a home sleep study done with a pulse oxygen meter on your finger? I was waking up with headaches because my oxygen level was too low because of nasal congestion. If you forcing your mouth to stay closed it will be even lower oxygen. I would suggest a full face mask instea...

Re: Resmed airsense 10 change cdma/2g to 4G?

Mine just quit working yesterday I use My air to just follow my daily numbers. It's just more convenient to log into a website quickly look see how many hours I got usually when I'm not at home I check before noon. I need to get 6 hours minimum to meet FAA requirement. If I come up short I take a qu...

Re: COVID-19: Wearing a CPAP full face mask outside in the day?

I happened to already have a 3M N95 mask one with the rubber exhaust (cool valve) I purchased a year ago from Home Depot using it for sanding, and yard work still clean works great. What I do is use it when i'm out and when I get home I drop it into a bin let it sit for 3 days before touching it aga...

Re: Cleaning heated hose

When I first got the CPAP didn't know any better was using bottled and Tap water in the humidifier which quickly turned it into a slimy mess. Once I moved over to distilled no problems in 4 years. I replace the hose once a year and the mask when it wears out. The heated hose according to my supplier...

I also quit the Azelastine what I found was I had orginally been using Walmart Generic version of Nasacort but a month ago when I went to get more they were out of stock. Re: Afrin nasal spray

The rebound isn't really that bad as long as you don't use it again when it rebounds. My wife used Afrin for 30 years multiple times a day when I got flownase she used that to kick the habit after I showed her it can raise BP she already had elevated BP. I'm not sure how much of an effect it has on ...

Re: Afrin nasal spray

After the 1st year of using my CPAP I started to develop nasal swelling where within 2-3 minutes putting the mask on my nose would plug up. If I removed the mask my nose would return to normal after a few minutes. Which mask are you using? Is it touching the nasal bridge area of your nose? Some peo...

Re: Developing allergy to CPAP

You may have vasomotor rhinitis like I do. That is a sensitivity to things like smells, cold air, warm air perfume and any other things. This (warm moist air) makes my nasal membranes swell and causes headaches. This mostly happens to people that already have some other allergy. I have every prescr...

Re: SOO CLEAN

Hi does anyone have one of these? How well does it work? do you use it every day? How much are they in Canada? I have one and really like it. Yes, you still need to wash stuff weekly or so, but the Soclean disinfects on days in between. It is expensive, which puts some people off, and the call it a...

Re: Why do you need a sleep doctor?

Gotta say, it's a very good question. Best answer I can think of is that you need a sleep doctor to get a sleep study and a prescription for a machine. Other than that they don't do much and don't even seem to know very much. I think the reason is because most sleep doctors don't attend sleep studi...
