Re: Seven months -- whazzup with these numbers?

Hi RubySnooze, Sorry to ear about your sleep study struggle. There's a lot of things I don't understand about your new doc "system". How on hell do they think you can fit a nasal pillow with sensor in your nostril?? When you said they ask you to go in jammies, I really thought they would put some wi...

Re: Seven months -- whazzup with these numbers?

Hi RubySnooze,

Did your new doc specify any pressure setting for your 3 nights study?

Re: Seven months -- whazzup with these numbers?

Doc did say I will be using my own machine during the sleep study. Apparently I should have received a packet of papers at my first appointment (didn't); those are being mailed to me. Maybe there is more info in there. Ok, I guess I was mistaken... But first time I heard of a home sleep study with ...

Re: Seven months -- whazzup with these numbers?

Hi RubySnooze, Glad to see that you finally have your sleep study scheduled! Unless I'm mistaken, home sleep study are always done without xPAP, it a diagnosis study to see how is your sleep without therapy. A study with a xPAP (titration) has to be done in lab so the sleep tech can adjuste the pres...

Re: Unknown Hypopnea

Hi ShadowAngel, Here some comments that might help you with your problem. Hello. I was wondering if any of you all have encountered an issue like mine. I'm currently 26 years old and have had sleep issues since I was 16. I never knew until recently. The thing is I just barely found out I have sleep ...

Re: AHI and what it means

Went from 10.5 to 13. AHI dropped to 2.5 with 90% 12. May try a little bit higher? Hi keroseneburner, Glad to see that your AHI came back to what it was with your old machine. What are your pressure setting now? Since you saw better AHI by increasing the pressure you can try adding +1 to EPAP min a...

OkyDoky might be on something here, I think this kind of hybrid mask might worth a try. Although, I never used one, if I was having your king of problem I would certainly give those mask a shot. Does your new doc offer to try masks before buying?

Re: Seven months -- whazzup with these numbers?

Crap crap crap! I think I've got allergic contact dermatitis from the 3M Micropore tape. You know...the tape that actually sticks to my face all night? Sheesh...what do I do now? Back to the hoodies and FFM? Does your AHI still in the low range in the last couple of days? I must admit I miss my dai...

Re: Seven months -- whazzup with these numbers?

Met with Doc 2 this morning. For about 12 minutes. He agreed that APAP is not working for me, but wants his own tests before he starts to consider what is going on. He's scheduling me for a chest xray, a breathing study, and a three-night in-home sleep study. I'll see him again the middle of Septem...

Re: Seven months -- whazzup with these numbers?

July 31 Pressure 8.5 / 8.5 Swift FX 3M Micropore and painters tape Felt like very little decent sleep BUT an AHI record, nonetheless! Congrats! Actually you had 2-3 nights with lower AHI in the past but this one look the best with very little flow limitation, RERAs and basically no Vibratory Snore....

Re: Understanding Graphs

It might also be that you didn't have any event during that night, are all your nights showed an empty Event Flags graphs? It happened to me a few time when I got an AHI of zero. At least, there should surely be something in that graph for the night you where referencing in your first post.

Re: Understanding Graphs

Hi Corky1121, This AHI graph is more confusing than anything, especialy for a newbie! It's just a trending graph base on the average for the last X minutes... The spike that you notice just show that you had a (probably) small cluster of events but you can see that in the "Event Flags" or "Flow Rate...

July 29 Pressure 4/4 [there ya go, OSAHell ] Thanks! I really hope your new doc will be of good help and support and make sure to share your impression with us tomorrow! As for the last night of wild, uninhibited experimentation, I'll leave the choice to you (as always) but I surely am curious as t...

Re: Sleep apnea without apnea: Apparently, it's a thing?

Hi rebeccamakesthings, Glad to see that your titration was a success. My post was already wrote when I saw your titration result but I post it anyway, maybe it will help someone else. Sleep apnea include hypopnia, AHI stands for Apnea/Hyponea Index. We just don't say Sleep apnea/hypopnea problem to ...
