Re: Was too scared to sleep with CPAP in sleep study
Been there done that. Not that I was scared but I am a very very light sleeper, so naturally being in a different place with all those wires was no fun. I slept so little during my first study that the docs couldn't get enough info for a diagnosis. So they gave me a sleeping pill and we did it all o...

Re: first night, first timer
My first couple weeks were pretty tough. Several times I felt like taking the mask off and saying to heck with it. But after the first night that I managed to sleep a few hours with it I noticed that I didn't wake up with a headache, coughing, and needing a drink of water. After a while it will get ...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
I have 2 small p10 nasal pillows that I would like to trade for 2 mediums (new and unused but not in original package). Also still have a medium F10 cushion to trade for a P10 medium pillow. (new and unused in original package). Also have a new in the bag F10 medium frame system (includes frame, med...

Re: NEED SOME ADVICE ON CPAP
After you turn the dial to set the humidity where you want it you need to give the button in the center a quick tap, then it locks in. Otherwise it goes right back to the previous setting. I did the exact same thing on mine. I have never needed to go above 2 and have never had a problem with condens...

Re: Super new...please tell me you get used to this
I can tell you for certain that if you just hang in there you WILL get used to it. I just completed my first 3 months and have gotten to the point where I would never even think about going to sleep without having the machine on. The first couple weeks was pure hell, I would keep the mask on 4 hours...

Re: Not sure what to do
Google, and ask around at places like your local pharmacy. They usually know all the gossip on which doctors are good and not so good. I have been very blessed as I have found a great PCP, DME, and sleep clinic, which I accomplished by doing what I suggested above. I know this is a 6 million dollar ...

Re: Nasal Pillows Exhalation Issue
I think Pugsy is on the right track (as usual), I wonder if you need to step up a size on the pillows. I bought the pillows to use when I needed a break from the FFM and have now gotten to like them so much that I use them alot. The first one I tried was the small and it seemed like a good fit but I...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
The first few nights I kept wondering what I had gotten myself into. I did exactly what another poster suggested, I would wear my mask for awhile in the evening while watching TV, except with my machine turned on. (It counts as compliance time to keep the insurance co. happy). At first as soon as I ...

Re: Is there a thin full face mask?
Thanks chunkyfrog, that mask looks interesting. SirNoddinOff, I am going to order the buckwheat pillow and give it a try. I found a contour pillow at wally mart that helps some. And bleeping beauty I didn't exactly use the right words there, I actually meant less distance between my face and the poi...

Re: Need more than 2.5 hours
With just under a week with my machine I have been doing similar things. The first night after 4 hours I took it off because i just couldnt get comfortable. The second night I kept it on all night and slept for 8 hours. And man did I feel great the next day since 3-4 hours of sleep a night had been ...

Is there a thin full face mask?
My biggest problem so far is my mask pushing against the mattress and causing a leak.I'm thinking a mask that is a bit thinner might help this issue. I sleep on my side but because of back pain most nights I tend to roll over a bit more towards my stomach. I also can't use a very thick pillow becaus...

Re: Just got my sleep test results
Sorry for talking so long to update, ended up having to have 2 studies because I couldn't get enough sleep for them to collect data. Sleep deprived me forgot to ask the tech to send me the full results, next time I talk to them I will get them and post the full results. But they did say that without...

Re: Just got my sleep test results
I have an appointment with the specialist next month so hopefully he can tell me what's going on. My ENT has me on a couple different meds for congestion in both my sinuses and chest, so that could very well be the case. He is the one who arranged the sleep study to begin with. I'm still waiting to ...

Just got my sleep test results
First off I'd like to say thanks to everybody here, I've been reading some posts here and I've already learned some things. I had an in lab study a couple weeks ago and just got some results. I only slept a little less than 3 hours which the nurse said was the bare minimum amount of time for them to...
