Re: Lifelong side sleeper now on back
I agree with ChicagoGranny. I don't know what kind of mask you have but the full face masks and to an extent even the nose masks have a tendency to leak more when you are lying on your side. If you are a side sleeper you can go to cpap.com and they can give you recommendations on the best masks for ...

Re: Terrible Feeling in Nose After One Night
Amara View is a FFM that sits under the nose. It doesn't touch the bridge of your nose. There are probably others like it but this is the one I use. Did you wash out the humidity tank well and fill it with distilled water? Yes and yes. I have heard of the View. I just don't think I can handle it bu...

Re: Terrible Feeling in Nose After One Night
The pain sounds like reflux all the way up into the nose. I have not had it quite so far up, but yes, it is miserable. If this is the first time, it may well be the last. Reflux is likely independent of your therapy. Avoid eating for a couple hours before beddy bye time. Thanks for the input chunkf...

Re: Terrible Feeling in Nose After One Night
I believe the humidity was set to 4. As far as the software, I used a software last time and I believe obsessing over the numbers is what made me quit. As far as a full face mask, I can't do it. They destroy my nose bridge. If not for nasal pillows, I would take my chances without CPAP. Thanks for t...

Re: Terrible Feeling in Nose After One Night
Last night was my first night back on CPAP in about a year. (I really didn't want to be on it but may be stuck with it.) Upon waking up I have a feeling in my nose that is hard to describe, but I will try. It feels like when you jump into a swimming pool and get chlorinated water up your nose. I ho...

Re: Sleeping Much Better
Yes there is a market for used machines but you take a big hit on what you paid depending on how many hours you used it. You can try craigslist and maybe get a little more for it than you would from the forum members here...we are pretty much all notorious tightwads. I wondered about how you were d...

Re: Sleeping Much Better
When I had my original sleep test my AHI was 4.7. So low in fact that the insurance company wouldn't even pay for my equipment. My RHI was 9.5. It seemed borderline to begin with. I've also lost weight.

Sleeping Much Better
My story began in May when I had a sleep test. After many restless nights of CPAP therapy I finally found the right mask. I went several months using my therapy. I never felt any better. I also had been on a LOT of medicine. (20mg of Lexapro and 2 mg of Xanax) I slowly weaned myself off of all the m...

Re: Sleepyhead Says 'Way Too Much Leaking!"
Hey Pugsy! I think the leak is bad. I saw the graph. I will try to get a graph up this weekend. The last several days the leak has been so bad that I run out of water before the night was through. I will wake up occasionally with it leaking but it is so much easier to fix than the nasal mask was. I ...

Sleepyhead Says 'Way Too Much Leaking!"
According to Sleepyhead software my mask is leaking way too much. It suggested I talk to my CPAP advisor. My pressure is 9. When I wake up I don't have a dry mouth or sore throat anymore. I've been using nasal saline spray and the AYR gel. This hits hard because I finally found a mask that I barely ...

Re: Almost There...
Thanks for your time Pugsy. As always. My mask feels great. My main issue right now is a sore throat and irritated nose. I don't have any dry mouth so I'm not sure if I have just come down with something and it was just a big coincidence or not. My eyes are really irritated as well so I may have all...

Almost There...
I have noticed with my Aloha that it just doesn't leak. Or so I thought. I check sleepyhead and it shows that it does leak. The first night that I used it I had zero leakage 95 percent of the time. Then after a few nights the leaks started. I don't ever feel any leaks. I have to try really hard to g...

Re: Seeking AirSense 10 feedback.
It has a perfect score on cpap.com. That's highly unusual for ANY product that I've ever seen on ANY website. I have that exact machine. (Yes I'm a guy.) I wanted it because of the extra algorithm and the RERA detection. It is very quiet. I can't hear it at all. If you have any specific questions ju...

Re: CPAP Not For Me
Just a thought, but as I approach my 2nd sleep study, I am concerned that I may have a "good" night during the study. There are bad nights that my ahi is below 2 and good nights where AHI is almost 10. What is going to happen if I have a good not during the study? You are 0.3 to 0.4 away from moder...
