Re: Any ideas on how to lower my AHI? (Pesky Hypopnea's)

WOW! Just had to post as very excited ! So last night I set my machine to min pressure of 13 cmH2o, which was absolutely fine going off to sleep without using the ramp. Woke up this morning checked via sleepyhead and my AHI was down to 0.90! Now it may well be psychological but even before I checked...

Re: OT - Wow! My cat loves...

The other delight is waking up in the middle of the night wondering what the cat is doing on the duvet and finding out he's bought a friend in as you have a mouse running toward your face! oh, like #2 on this list, eh? http://www.boredpanda.com/cat-shaming/ YES! Oh what a lovely cat tho! I need to ...

Re: OT - Wow! My cat loves...

YES! And if you have ANY hardwood, tiled or easy to clean floors, they make sure they go right past those until they can get to a rug, carpet or other soft furnishing. The other delight is waking up in the middle of the night wondering what the cat is doing on the duvet and finding out he's bought a...

Re: OT - Wow! My cat loves...

My cat is ALWAYS chewing grass out side - why do they actually do this? I thought it was maybe to help with digestion?

Re: Any ideas on how to lower my AHI? (Pesky Hypopnea's)

With the slight increase in any obstructive apnea event (OAs or hyponeas) late in the sleep cycle in those wee hours of the morning my first suspect is REM stage sleep. It's fairly common for a person's OSA to be worse and/or need higher pressures during REM stage sleep. The other suspect is sleepi...

Re: Any ideas on how to lower my AHI? (Pesky Hypopnea's)

Thanks for the reply's! From the first night I used my CPAP I stopped having to wake up and go to the bathroom! Previously I was having to go pee about 4 - 5 times a night even with fluid restriction from about 6pm. Literally this all stopped on my first nights CPAP treatment and I now never have to...

Any ideas on how to lower my AHI? (Pesky Hypopnea's)

Hi all! (Current AHI around 2-3) After noting a lot of my OSA events were happening first thing when I went to sleep (when my machine was auto titrating from its min 4 to its average of about 14-15) I asked the technician this week to increase my start pressure to 7, which seems to have worked, but ...

Re: Offered a new machine..... what should I do?

What difference does it make which model you're offered if you're happy with your machine and only need to tweak the hose problem? Have you located the machine so it's below your head (the water will run back to it rather than into your mask)? Have you exhausted all other fixes re heated hoses? Yea...

Offered a new machine..... what should I do?

Hi all! Just got back from my 4 week check up and explained to the nurse that I was getting rainout with my Resperonics System One A-Flex machine. She immediately gave me the option of having another new machine, a Fisher and Paykal machine that has a built in humidifier and heated tube, but the onl...

Re: Poll: What type of mask do you use?

Quick update! Just got back from my 4 week check-up and the nurse changed me to Resperonics Nuance Pro (Due to the wet face and noise I was getting with the Eson). I was a little worried as I had never tried pillows before and normally hate things up my nose. Well what a change! I thought I liked my...

Re: Poll: What type of mask do you use?

I have come to hate my simplus mask, I just find it leaks past a pressure of 10 and is claustrophobic. I always thought I was a mouth breather so didn't bother opening the packet the sleep people gave me containing the Eson nasal mask but tried it one night and it became my full time mask. I have a ...

Eson nasal mask noise

Hey all Although I love my Eson nasal mask compared to my F&P full face I have recently been really bothered by noise from the vent port on the mask. I have the diffuser pad in place, and initially it was silent all the time, however now I seem to wake up and its making a really loud noise through t...

Re: cognitive memory difficulties caused by Silent strokes

I wanted to re-read all the posts you have made to try and get to the bottom of why you originally posted as I was getting lost in the "going round in circles" we seem to be doing so I have summarised the following main themes: 1)You report having finger weakness in the two lower digits in your righ...

Re: Who is good at reading Spirometry results?

Hi Jaybee! It sounds like your doctor is following you up in two weeks, so I think take the course of treatment advised, and then go see them armed with questions you want answering. I think it would be a really good idea to formulate the questions you want answering before hand, then write then dow...
