Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
I also don't have much to add or really anything different. We've pretty much maxed out our idea department and with the data available we can't be certain that the centrals are a problem or not. This is where the sleep doctor needs to be involved. I would continue things just like they are and kee...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
Good morning, I turned up my humidifier to 6 and that seemed like a good setting for me. Time will tell. Pretty good nights sleep, except I had ripped off the mask for an hour before I woke up and realized it. http://i.imgur.com/RUq3N2Mh.jpg A detail of the OA and CA events: http://i.imgur.com/aD4oh...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
If the humidifier is already on its max setting, you might try turning it down a notch or two. Hi Robysue, My humidifier is set to 4. I will turn it to 6 tonight and see what happens. The swelling occurred after mask up and falling asleep. We are all looking for the sweetspot, not too dry , not too...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
I had swelling in my nasal passage and change out my pillows for the full face mask during the night. You did the mask swap around 0:00 or 0:10 during one of the breaks in the Flow Rate curve. My guess is that you were awake for a short while before you decided to make the swap and since you say: N...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
From last night: http://i.imgur.com/inSFA6Sh.jpg I had swelling in my nasal passage and change out my pillows for the full face mask during the night. Not a great sleep. First feeling like I was suffocating and then like I was rebreathing my own breathe. Not a big fan of the full mask but what else ...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
When I get up I take off the mask. The machine does whatever it does. I do not turn it off. Upon returning I put the mask on and when I start breathing it fires up again and I go back to sleep.

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
Hi Robysue, You have made some great points and excellent suggestions. I am replying from work on my iPhone so can't quote quite the way I'd like but I'll try to answer and address some of topics. I wake up lots at night. Before Cpap therapy to turn over to my other side when my arm goes to sleep an...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
Not my GP. But my other Dr was referred as a sleep specialist. Not sure what he "knows", yet. But he prescribed the sleep study and diagnosed me with severe sleep apnea.Pugsy wrote:Either one of those docs (your PCP or lung doc) know anything about sleep apnea and therapy?

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
Thank you. That's almost what I would like to see. Can you do it one more time with the exact same events but this time turn off the mask pressure...pressure and leak graphs so that the flow rate graph isn't so tiny. I am looking for a certain pattern and I can't quite rule it in or out at this sca...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
I have another question for you and it's about the home sleep study that you had. Can you tell me what all was involved with it? Did you just have a finger tip sensor (like pulse oximeter) and/or maybe a little cannula in your nose...or did you have more elaborate stuff that you had to wear like a ...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
My data from last night: http://i.imgur.com/dfWgTtAl.jpg I tried the larger pillows and feel asleep wearing them. When I woke up to go to bed I changed the pressure to 8.6 and the EPR to 1. I did not have any feeling of air starvation last night. But my AHIs climbed. What are your thoughts? Thanks, ...

Re: High Clear Airways during sleep
Hi Jay, I will make the adjustments to the pressure and EPR. I will also try out a larger size pillow per Pugsy's suggestion. Thanks, Jim Jim, I think that might be too many changes to make and sort out at one time. How about trying the pillows first, so we can compare them with previous results an...
