Re: New Airsense 10 for Her - plastic stinks

I just don't remember having to acclimate to an odor with the original machine at all. There was nothing to get used to. Just air. I guess I'll find out tonight if swapping out the hose and humidifier is enough, and I'll try washing the hell out of the new ones. Luckily if I stick my nose in the cav...

New Airsense 10 for Her - plastic stinks

It's been 5 years so my insurance paid for a new Airsense 10 for Her. I got it yesterday. I noticed some small changes. When I went to bed I noticed the plastic stink right away, but figured it was just "new machine" odor. But I was up at 3AM swapping out the humidifier for my old one, and then 7AM ...

Swift FX for her mask observation

I have been using the Swift FX for her mask for years. I like it. It works fine. I got a new one this year. A few weeks ago I finally opened it. I put it on and adjusted the straps. It started to drive me crazy. I had leaks and it seemed like it wouldn't seat properly. 2 weeks or so of struggling en...

Re: Dating after divorce & CPAP

When I was younger and clueless I would have been surprised by a cpap but would have adapted because I would never, ever want anyone to not use something so utterly important to their health out of worry that I might not like it. In fact, I would be upset if I found out about the cpap later on and r...

I too have worn the Swift FX upside down one night and lived to tell the tale.

Re: Worried about past two nights

One night the power went out for me and I think I continued to breathe into an off machine for something like 2 hours.

I like Mikebear's idea of taping something over the on/off button.

Modafinil is the only reason I get through the day. I take it 7 days a week.

Re: New xPAP side effect

I'm heartened to know that maybe the non-hoseheads aren't noticing my mask lines. As for being ID'd by the hoseheads, I'm ok with that. We need a secret signal to use in public.

Re: Noise disturbs spouse

One suggestion I have is that your wife sleep with earplugs. You can get big sample packs from earplugstore dot com. I've slept with earplugs for 25 years. Sure, she would probably rather not have to do that, but if you are getting effective therapy at night then I hope she's willing to consider it.

Is it the Wayback? I can't even figure out how people are finding these ancient threads to exhume.

Re: Washing humidifier on RedMed AirSense 10

Lately I've just been emptying the humidifier and letting it air dry each day without a lot of this sort of washing. Probably a good idea. Do you ever rinse it with a vinegar solution? I used to let things soak in a diluted vinegar solution but I don't anymore. I'm like Mark55; with using distilled...

Yeah it's a weird setup, isn't it? You can hold that bottom part firmly and shake at least some of the water out that little hole, too. Lately I've just been emptying the humidifier and letting it air dry each day without a lot of this sort of washing.

Re: Settings for Heat and Humidity for cold rooms

Pugsy, when you turn the temp up to its highest setting, does it feel like you're breathing hot air? BTW ambient humidity in my house has been 16%....40% sounds tropical to me right now.
