S9 autoset and camping

So spring is here and this is my first camping season on cpap. We camp in tents so no RV power source, etc. I'm all set with my battery system, but my question is can I take my s9 autoset camping with me or will the dampness in some way effect it? I'm debating about investing in a transcend or z1 un...

Re: FFM was a bust.

I think it's important to have a ffm that works for you in the arsenal just in case something happens that you can't use your preferred mask.

Re: Question about pressure for new user

.21 is really good for an AHI, so I would probably stay at the set pressure for a bit. You can turn EPR on and see if you like it. I have mine set to EPR 2 with my pressure at a constant 11cm. YMMV.

Re: Asthma worsening since beginning CPAP

My asthma has greatly improved since starting cpap. Also, I find I am better able to control my breathing since starting. Plus only nose breathing in the cold has been a great benefit. I would definitely fire your DME.

I use the padacheek strap covers and they are so comfortable. I even use the forehead one.

Re: Apap mode causing mask trouble

I think I'll probably just stick with cpap mode then. Just curious if anyone had similar problems. Thanks for chiming in.

Apap mode causing mask trouble

So my prescribed cpap pressure is 11cm from my split night sleep study, but I wanted to set a tight range on auto mode to see how my pressure needs fluctuate. I started with 10-13cm and the highest my pressure went was 12.5 and the lowest was 10.8. my problem was that with the nasal mask, every time...

Re: Tricks to fall asleep

I make sure I read out of the bedroom before going to bed. Then I set up my aromatherapy and turn on a meditation and relaxation podcast (all instrumental), then mask up, then hook up my hose and lay back, relax, and listen to the sounds. I haven't made it past a half hour yet to fall asleep( I set ...

Re: Tight Chest

I had the chest tightness the first 2 days when I started cpap, then it went away and hasn't returned yet. I chalk it up to muscles working for the first time in many years.

Re: Got my cpap today

This is the kind of success story we don't hear about on here very often. No drama from the DME supplier, gets the right machine and uses it with no problem, feeling rested. Good stuff. There is a lot of uncertainty when going through the process of diagnosis, equipment acquisition and starting the...

Re: Got my cpap today

Update: I used my cpap the night I got it and checked my data the next morning. My AHI was down to 2.4 from 40.9 at the sleep lab. Leaks were under control and I woke up feeling rested. Then last night used the cpap again, slept well. My AHI this morning was 1.2, leaks still under control, and feeli...

Got my cpap today

So I went my DME and got my Resmed s9 auto set today with a minimal fight. I went in and they brought out and icon auto, and I basically said nice try but we're going with the Resmed auto set because of the data capability. They said ok and viola I got the auto set. I was really surprised how little...
