Re: Is CPAP a scam of sorts? - my story

I've been using the chin strap for 12 nights. The previous 12 nights without it my AHI averaged 1.78, and the 12 with it 1.51. Also, with it I had 4 nights with <1 AHI, vs none without it. The scores started out high and continue to come down as I get used to it. I think it does help, but I'll need ...

Re: Medical Canabis in Minnesota 4 OSA (July 1, 2018)

I found it to be extremely helpful. When trying it while using CPAP, it didn’t seem to help my numbers, so my theory is that it makes OSA sleep more effectively despite the apnea, so it may not prevent other conditions caused by OSA. But subjectively I was much less tired.

Re: Is CPAP a scam of sorts? - my story

I think the common “give it more time” advice isn’t good, I think much better advice would be to keep trying things. With the chin strap, I now apply 3 devices to my head. FYI I’m not up this late, I’m on Philippines time.

Since the joint is so high up, that supports my point even more.

First night wearing a chin strap seemed to be an improvement.

Re: Is CPAP a scam of sorts? - my story

Since the jaw is a lever, tissue above the fulcrum would be pushed in but tissue below would be pulled out. Depending on where the obstruction is, it seems possible this would help. Because of my physiology, my mouth tends to stay wide open during the night. I’m going to experiment for a few nights ...

Re: Resmed filter change schedule confusion

I use the hypoallergenic filters from cpap.com, I want to keep as much stuff out of my lungs and my machine as possible. It's not worth it to save a couple bucks a year and gum up an almost $900 machine (my dad had one fail most likely due to baby powder). Also if you use a P10 nasal pillow mask, it...

Just made a donation, as I think that SleepyHead is excellent software.

Re: Can't get pulse oximeter to download

I didn't say I lost the data, I just have to click Import again to grab it off the card. But the software is doing something it shouldn't. Also, I tried importing again with the feature that syncs the session start, but it starts the oximetry data at end of the first session, rather than at the begi...

Re: Can't get pulse oximeter to download

Actually the align feature may work, but the CPAP data was missing when I tried it.

Does anyone know how I can contact the developer?

Re: Can't get pulse oximeter to download

Ok I finally got it to work. The feature that's supposed to align session data doesn't work, I tried setting the clocks the same and that worked. Also the "purge oximetry data" actually purges ALL data, including CPAP data.

Re: Can't get pulse oximeter to download

I finally got it to work, I had to select v3.7+ (I think it may have been different in the beta version of the software I was trying with before)...

Re: Can't get pulse oximeter to download

Ok, I uninstalled the driver I found on Google and installed the one recommended by the new version of SleepyHead.

Now it seems to see the oximeter, and it says to select the "upload" option in the menu, but I see no such option.

Re: Can't get pulse oximeter to download

Ok I installed the new version.

Now it doesn't crash, but it tries for a while and then says it can't find any compatible oximeters.

I tried with the oximeter both turned off and turned on.

Can't get pulse oximeter to download

I have a Contec CMS50F. The Oximetry Wizard says I need a USB to Serial UART driver. The "click here" link for more information doesn't work, and copy/pasting it returns "File not found." I searched google and installed a USB to Serial driver from here: http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProduct.aspx...
