Re: POLL: How do you feel using your xPAP?
Before CPAP I suffered from serious headaches in the morning and limited sleep. For years I simply believed I was suffering from complex insomnia. Last year I had a very disturbing change in my health and developed atrial fibrillation. I had non stop events for over 2 months when the attentiveness o...

Re: air filter replacement Airsense 10 Autoset
I change the filter on my AirSense 10 every month but I check the filter twice a week because of the extremely dusty environment. I find the replacement filters very affordable so I keep a couple packs of 6 on hand at all times. I have only received one package for replacement from the DME in the pa...

Re: Poll: What type of mask do you use?
I use nasal pillows (AirFit P10 for Her). Most comfortable I have found. Started on a FFM because that is what they used during my titration and quickly found out it wasn't for me. On my own I tried the hybrid, much more comfortable then ended up with nasal pillows. The pillows are my full time mask...

Re: I owe Second Wind a public apology
I actually just referred someone to second wind who was just changed from CPAP to VPAP. I told her the staff at second wind will do what they can and are much safer about sanitizing the machines. I don't always trust Craig's list or the want ads. 49er is right, tho....we are all only human.

Re: So close to success; last obstacle
Drone1066; I have the same issue with congestion as Pugsy, but did not catch it until I was at least a month into therapy. Any pressure, what-so-ever, on or around my nose causes immediate congestion. During my titration, they slapped a full face on me, and did not try anything else. After a month, ...

Re: New User for past 60 Days with many changes
Thank you Pugsy.... As stated, I have been getting some good sleep for the past week. Prior to the change to a P10, my AHI was hit and miss, but I never dropped below 3.4 AHI. I even had a few really bad nights where it jumped significantly (up to 9.6 and 10.2). The F10 (small womens) seems to put t...

New User for past 60 Days with many changes
I am a relatively new user who makes it a point to follow posts here on cpaptalk.com. I always look forward to reading updated posts and questions. I have a few of my own this morning. As a standard response to all new users deal with the variety and trial/error of mask fit, type, etc., I have actua...

Re: Feeling Weird After First Night
I have been on CPAP for a few months and can tell you that the first few days were a bit challenging. I felt off my game, where one day I would get (what I call) "a CPAP high', then the next night, a bit different. One night would be great, and the next, I felt like a "goldfish" breathing air. I can...

Re: Lunesta (Sleep, stay asleep aid)
A word about both Lunesta and Ambien....both have been known to make me sleep less, and I usually end up in the kitchen with sharp objects in my hands. Since I suffer from OSA along with serious sleep maintenance insomnia, I prefer to use melatonin to fall asleep. It is actually much less dangerous....

Re: yes, it's a poll
My BP has been a bit higher, but I consider the development of A-Fib part of the problem brought about by undiagnosed/untreated SA.

Re: FitBit -- worth it?
I use the VivoFit for monitoring everything from steps, to distance, to calories. I also monitors heart rate with a chest band and automatically monitors your movement during sleep. I stopped using it for sleep because I didn't need a reminder of how many times I move around during the night. It ran...

Re: Mouth Breathing
Jake1, I also am a relatively new CPAP user, and use the F10 mask because of mouth breathing. I find this mask one of the most comfortable, especially since I started on the Quattro FF, size XS. The F10 seals extremely well, and since I switched, I have had no leaks to speak of, unless I fail to sea...

Re: New to Forum and Thanks to all for the Help
Actually, I believe I have picked up a pretty good machine. I was given the ResMed AirSense 10 Auto Set CPAP with HumidAir. For a mask, I chose the AirFit F10 for Her full face mask with headgear. What is nice, I receive daily reports regarding my sleep, mask leaks, events, total hours of therapy pe...

New to Forum and Thanks to all for the Help
I am new to this forum, and want to let all newly diagnosed apnea patients that this is a great forum to learn from. I received my CPAP and mask about one week ago, and used this forum to conduct my own research prior to beginning therapy. (Unfortunately, some have to wait for authorizations from In...
