Re: Has Anyone Ever Succunbed To Apnea?

Two close personal friends did not treat their sleep apnea and they both had major strokes. One died and the other will never get out of a nursing home. These are the kinds of risks you run if you have sleep apnea and don't treat it every single night . People do not have to die by suffocation to be...

Re: Using a cpap when you have a cold..

The more congested I am, the more relief I get from the cpap. The warm, moist air coming out of my nasal pillows lets me breathe much better with the cpap than without. I use cpap every single time I sleep - without exception.

Re: Best tapes to seal lips for mouth breather

1) The thread you posted in has been dead for 2.5 years.

2) The product you link is ridiculously expensive - $15 for a 30 day supply! What works the best is Nexcare Gentle Paper First Aid Tape from Walmart (manufactured by 3M) for around $3 for two rolls, which will last for 6 months to a year.

Re: xPAP still a disaster

Throat like a desert means that you are mouth breathing. A long time ago I caught myself breathing in through my nose and out through my lips. Chinstraps were ineffective as you can still blow air out through your lips even with your teeth clenched. The specific tape that works extremely well for ta...

Re: And the journey begins....

When you first start on CPAP therapy, you have a unique opportunity to try and return different masks to find out which one works best for you. At least try some nasal pillow masks. For many people, they are far more comfortable and most people prefer having as little on their face and head as possi...

Re: Any way to tell if you are a mouth breather?

I am about to make my first CPAP purchase, but I am not sure whether a nasal pillow is for me (obviously those are the kind of things that can't be returned once used). I do not really breathe through my mouth during the day, but I know that I open my mouth when I snore. That said, my dentist say t...

Re: when you cant read your sd card - solutions

A wireless memory card is THE way to go! Never have to take the card out of the CPAP and never have a problem reading the card - just push a button on the computer and import the data into Sleepyhead.

Re: Breeze User Needs New Nasal Pillow Recommendation!

I used the Breeze for years and was happy with it, although they always eventually broke on the curved piece in the front or at the nose cushion hinge when the plastic got old and brittle. I switched to and am now very happy with the AirFit P10. The hose issue is easily solved with a $10 hose hanger...

Re: Where to get Swift LT nasal pillows inexpensively?

Hi jweeks, The best thing to do is to call cpap.com and talk to them on the phone. The manufacturers of the equipment limit what can be advertised on the website. Regarding trying a new mask, in my opinion, one of the biggest advantages of buying from cpap.com is that many of the most popular CPAP m...

Re: REsmed AirSense 10 USERS - some Q's

You need to get the Elite or above model to get full data. The basic Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP does not do full data as you want. im getting the AUTO. so i assume thats fine ? Get the For Her model instead - it is the same price, has everything that the auto model has, and has an additional mode that...

Re: Changing Owner Name in ResMed S9 AutoSet

When I had to change machines and DMEs, I had to register the new machine to my name. You can do this on http://myair.resmed.com . When you first sign up, you register using the serial number on your machine. When your machine changes, you click on My Equipment and then you can enter the new serial ...

Re: New to Cpap Hope to learn

Welcome to the forum. I have had my mechanical aeortic valve for about 10 years. Soon, your brain will tune out the sound of the valve and you won't hear it anymore. In a quiet room, people with very good hearing can hear a faint ticking, but you won't. The INR blood tests at least monthly, on the o...

This question has been asked and answered on this forum many times. Click on this link to see the posts here: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Acpaptalk.com+"so+clean" The majority of users here consider it useless as it can't "clean" or "disinfect" anything. It just makes your equipment smell ...

Re: Newbie: Helping your spouse get used to your CPAP usage.

Get a hose hanger to keep the hose out of your way and to make sure that it doesn't get pulled on when you change sleep position. This simple addition to your setup can make a world of difference! Without a hose hanger, every pull on the hose when you move will cause leaking and could wake you up.

I find the Micropore PAPER version to be the most comfortable and breathable, yet it still sticks incredibly well. Then again, I'm a guy and have been shaving my whole life so ladies might have a different experience.
