Why U.S is 5 or below while international is 10 and below
In the Netherlands an AHI below 5 is also considered ok (no OSAS). Gradations of OSAS are 5-15, 15-30 and 30+.

Re: User Flags
Hi, In sleepyhead v09.08-01 I've defined 2 user flags. Sleepyhead indicates user flag set as 20% works best finding apneus. Since apneus are normally 10+ seconds I set UF1 as 20% and 5 (till 10) sec, UF2 is set as 20% and 2.5 (till 5) sec. Below is the graph (my first here) which shows these UF's an...

Flow limitation question
Thanks for the answers, I'll try the EPR. Any suggestions where to start? Now I have APAP 6-12, no EPR. Should I start with APAP 7-12, EPR =1 and perhaps than go to APAP 8-12, EPR=2. @Tan, My AHI is always low, so I can show you two graphs. Below my Flow Rate when I tried CPAP 5 cmH2O (august) The n...

Re: Flow limitation question
OK, but do you think EPR is beneficial for reducing FL's?

Flow limitation question
Don't know what to think of these articles. Should I try the ResMeds EPR setting for pressure relief? @tan, did you try the EPR settings? (My specialist advised me not to use it!). What I read it's just a pressure relief of 1,2 of 3 cmh20 at exhaling but not benificial to treatment. Tried it one of ...

Re: Flow limitation question
We seem to read the same articles[emoji3]. I'm diagnosed with OSAS which is under control with APAP but don't know if specialists looked at other stuff. My feeling says UARS, BIPAP but can't prove it. Don't think my specialist/insurance is willing to try BIPAP when AHI<1. Also curious for switch fro...

Flow limitation question
Hi Tan, I have exactly the same issue/question. AHI is on average 0.7 and in 7 months the highest AHI was 2.3. Doesn't matter which pressure I'm using, AHI stays low. The Flow limitations are still there. My investigations indicate that FL's are blockages in the Upper Airways Area. These blockages a...

Re: AHI low at all pressures - Eye issues and still tired
Thanks for the eye responses. I don't think any strips were used during his investigation. To my specialists opinion it could have two reasons: 1) Bad quality of the natural tears 2) A blocked of tearpassage (hard finding right words in English) for tears going to eyes. By using teardrops (I tried s...

AHI low at all pressures - Eye issues and still tired
Hi, I'm new here (from the Netherlands). Since march 2014 I'm using the PAP. My AHI on average is 0.7 and in 7 months of PAP my AHI never exceeded 2.3 Since treatment started I'm having fatigued eyes. The Eye specialist couldn't find anything and suggested lubricating the eyes. Since this didn't hel...

what is wrong with my therapy?
The leakage seems too high so this should be investigated. Also the pressure is hitting the max at 12 while flow limitations are still present at that time. Increasing the max. pressure to 13 perhaps 14 could be helpfull against these FL's. I'm not an expert so please contact your specialist.
