Re: What's going on here - OSCAR attached
What I am concerned about is the length of the obstructions, some that are 30-40 seconds long and yet did not arouse me, which I would have thought would have happened. It's almost as if I were unconscious. Before I was treated with CPAP, I was having obstructive events longer than that all night l...

The RT didn't set the pressure. He left it on the wide-open factory setting. He has to follow the doctor's prescription.kobster123 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 5:33 pmMy machine was set by the RT at the provider of the machine.

Re: Sleep Doc Followups - Yes or No?
the pulmanologist required that I come to see her and we went over my compliance, my Respironics download and or Sleepyhead and or OSCAR data. We would discuss the need to alter the min and max settings as well as the comfort level with EPR and ramps. She would examine my nose, my throat, my ears, ...

Re: New CPAP - New Test - First time on medicare
Medicare require a new test for a new machine. This is wrong. My first sleep study was when I was 56. Medicare paid for a new machine when I turned 65. Medicare paid for another new machine when I was 70. They did not require another test either time. Quit wasting taxpayers' money with worthless te...

Nope, she uses a nasal interface and is probably breathing through the mouth. I use a full face mask and it does the same for me and runs out. Before answering try one out and you will see it runs out of water. My mask leaks detection is at 98% which is not bad. Never ever had this with my resperon...

Re: Choosing a Battery
I would stay away from lead acid batteries. Scroll down on this link and look at the discharge plot of LiFePO4 vs SLA. Long story short: Don't buy a $60 battery for a $600 CPAP... You get about half the time with a lead battery than LiFePO4. Take a look at the Bioenno 24 Volt LiFePO4 . You'll have ...

Re: Aerophagia No More!
I would like to mention that turmeric has an anti-inflammatory effect. Therefore over the course of taking this product, you may have healed whatever was causing the aerophagia to begin with (most likely inflammation from GERD making the sphincters and whatnot less sturdy for lack of a better way t...

allopathic MDs FYI, "allopaths" is a term that MDs themselves do not use, and that many regard as pejorative. "Allopath" was coined by Samuel Hahnemann, the inventor of homeopathy, as an intentionally critical term. This term seems to be in common use at osteopathic colleges. Osteopathic training p...

Grannie is right. Plus, the people in the Bible had slaves.. not the Bible. It was a part of their culture then. Also, notice that our salvation as God has revealed to us is on-going. An example of this was the difference in the covenants with man. It started with a covenant with one man (Abraham) ...

Re: Newbie: drying hose away from home
If you’re worried that the inside of the hose wont dry, why not hook it up to the machine and run air thru it? She stated she already invested in a Hurricane Dryer. I'm one of the users who never washes the hose. They last quite a few years, then I replace them. I rarely get any kind of respiratory...

Re: Ketogenic Diet (Keto) - Ineffective and Dangerous
Calorie restriction works, and I think it can be done in a more healthy and fun way than a keto diet. Looking at some of the studies of "successful" keto diets, you see things like this: outpatient protocol providing intensive nutrition and behavioral counseling, digital coaching and education plat...

Re: Ketogenic Diet (Keto) - Ineffective and Dangerous
Thanks for posting this article. A friend and I went on a ketogenic diet in 1996. We both lost a good bit of weight. After a year, heavy business travel got me off of it, and I gained much of the weight back. In 2014, I retired with a goal of losing weight. I had a strong suspicion that a keto diet ...
