Re: What are the specs for the tip of the AC adapter for a Respironics System One machine?

The model number 760 identifies my machine as a 60 series and I used the Respironics on the battery because it is a 12 volt machine. On the link if you scroll down it lists all the plugs included and their sizes. It states: J: 7.4*5.0*11(0.6) - for HP Pavilion and Dell E4300 E4310 E5400 E5410 E5500 ...

Re: Shoulder pain at high pressure

Need to determine if it is joint or referred pain so a talk with your doctor is a good idea. I wondered what was the reason for the pressure support of 5 cm? Do you have a restrictive lung problem or have difficulty taking a deep breath prior to CPAP? Did you have a titration and the doctor gave you...

Re: Shoulder pain at high pressure

The pain feels like it's in the joint. The same pain I used to have after arm wresting 25 years ago. Right at the joint. The pain does come back during the day if I am doing something repetitive with my right arm. It's gone 5 minutes after I get up in the morning. It could also be something degener...

Re: Shoulder pain at high pressure

Do you feel bloated or have a lot of gas? You might look up areophagia and see if this could be the problem. If the pain is constant and not increased with movement it sounds like referred pain. As crazy as it sounds right shoulder pain can be from the belly. I used to recover laproscopic patients a...

You also could use an over counter dry eye nighttime gel to see if that helps. I use the Refresh products. They have both drops for daytime and gel for night.

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet

The consideration here is whether it is the volume or change in volume that is disturbing and even if it is venting noise. By increasing the minimum the noise may be more consistent but not less. Most of this night you were above 8, if the other nights are the same then I would head toward that numb...

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet

One thing I noticed is that the breaks in your night are right after the machine has increased pressure. The normal venting rate also increases with pressure. You may be sensitive to the changes. An increase in the minimum may decrease these changes. I tried the Swift Fx when I first started and wit...

Re: Please Help Me Adjust My Set-up

I agree to see your eye doctor. When you see the doctor they can measure the dryness of your eye and that might answer one question for you. I have severe dry eye and my ophthalmologist placed lacrimal duct plugs to keep my tears from draining off. This also kept the air from drying out my eyes. It'...

Re: Is 6 hrs of sleep enough?

.... Long time no see!!! good to see you still around :) Thanks, I had a run in with lung cancer and a lung lobe removal so my focus was on healing. I never smoked so it was a surprise. Also it is a type that is rare and slow growing but no chemo or radiation treatment. That was another surprise. I...

Re: Is 6 hrs of sleep enough?

Interesting article, bu† did I miss something that talked about getting additional time in daily naps (with machine of course)? They talked about cumulative, but didn't acknowledge potential additional sleep times. This experiment was with healthy people in a lab setting with continuous monitoring ...

Re: Nose Pillows Sticking to Nostrils - Recent Issue

Not sure if this will help in this case but I used to use AYR nasal gel to keep my nose from drying out at night. Just put it on a cotton swab and swabbed my nostril's. Might be worth a try.

Re: What are the specs for the tip of the AC adapter for a Respironics System One machine?

Don't know if this will help but when I was on the road a lot I used the PowerAdd battery to power my Respironics 760 at night. In their pack there was a plug that fit and worked. It was an older plug and larger so I don't see it in many of the sets now. On their Amazon site they break down the size...

Re: Adjusted Machine per Recommendations - Results - Thoughts?

I've tried the large, medium, medium wide and small Dreamwear full face masks. The small works the best but all leak air at higher pressure. I also tried the F20? and had the same issue plus the fact that mask moves up and down while I breathe. Are you adjusting the mask to the higher pressure? Inc...

Re: Need help, suspect UARS. Want to try APAP - need advice and guidance.

One advantage of an in lab Sleep Study is they can use a probe to measure Pes (esophageal pressure) which is the diagnostic test for UARS. If an esophageal probe (Pes) is used, progressive elevation of esophageal pressure fluctuations terminating in arousals is noted.
