Re: Has anyones

<--- I've had ADHD all my life, but wasn't diagnosed until I was 32. I've had sleep apnea most of my life, but wasn't officially diagnosed until I was 38. Treating my apnea (very effectively, too) has not eliminated my ADHD symptoms, but it has made it somewhat easier to deal with. Sometimes the two...

Re: When cats bite the xPAP climate line tubing

BTDT, my first tube was practically held together with duct tape before it got replaced; my mighty huntress made multiple attempted to wrestle the critter down. I found that cutting a *thin* strip of tape that fits into the groove of the coil works best, but your mileage may vary. ETA: our sponsor s...

She is at home and we have a live-in health aide, so that really helps both of us tremendously. At 92 she has had a very full life so we are enjoying each day.
Blessings to you both and prayers for many happy memories to come. ❤❤❤

Re: Forest Fire Smoke

During fire season I change my filters more frequently, I.e. biweekly or more often as needed. You may have heard about the Lolo Peak Fire in Montana last year? That was pretty much in my backyard. I changed my filters every two weeks during the height of the season, and maybe should have changed th...

While not every user of cpap is disabled, too many have to get there before they will use cpap.
Sad.
Bingo. Many don't even realize they have OSA until there is major systemic damage. Hence the disability rating.

Re: Are all CPAP users disabled?

He said because he is a tied to the machine, he is disabled in the same way a person who is tied to an oxygen machine is disabled. A thinking person would be able to easily see the difference in these. Few people are "tied" to a cpap the way many people are 'tied', (literally, 24 hours a day) to ox...

I just throw the covers over the mask in the morning to protect it from the cats.

Re: Resmed Airsense for her

I can probably get Kaiser to exchange my current machine for the Resmed, but I doubt for the women one. I'd have to buy it myself, and don't know if the difference between the two Resmed's is worth it. Thanks in advance for any information. There is no difference in price between the two, either fo...

Re: Resmed P10 Pillow Maintenance

I used my first pillow for a year an a half. I have heard multiple people say that their pillows were leaking in a short time, and after I told them to make sure they hadn't inverted one of the inner cones while cleaning. +1 I've had my current pillows for >6months with no issues unless my headgear...

Re: AirFit P10 Nasal Pillow Mask

I love my P10 and run my humidity on 2, I wish they would come up with a head band that didn't stretch out so much. You can rig the P10 frame and pillows to attach to the Swift FX headgear which of course doesn't stretch out so much. I did it once just for grins. I may need a sketch of this. I have...

Re: Pets chewing/clawing at my cpap tubes

They are kittens. They chew on everything. They will get bored with it probably at about 6 months or so. In the meantime, a hose cozy might be a good addition. You can also take a damaged hose, cut along the side and slide it over the current hose. That's what my sister did due to bunny chewing. +1...

Re: Not sure what to do next

It sounds like you're willing to give PAP therapy another shot now though. If your last machine was set as a straight CPAP, you may benefit from purchasing a full-data APAP and giving a go at self-titrating. That's something we can definitely help with, but we will need more information on what made...

Re: Shingrix Vaccine - How much are you paying?

Wondering if I should ask about this at my next annual checkup. I'm only on my mid-forties, but I've never had a diagnosed case of chicken pox, I don't recall if my last titre said I was immune or not and also don't recall whether I ever had the second shot (I know I've had the initial shot at least...
