Re: Slime in humidifier chamber

Thanks for all the great replies. As to how I clean things. I do the mask cushion and humidifier tank daily. Air dry on a clean towel in my bedroom. Once a week I clean everything. The hose, the mask and take that apart. To dry the hose I just hook it up to the machine for 15 mins and the air dries ...

Slime in humidifier chamber

Hello all, I clean my humidifier tank every single day as soon as I wake up. I clean it in Palmolive dish soap and I rinse well and let it air dry. I also use distiller water in my tank but I do clean it in tap water. Well, yesterday I noticed a grey like slime on the bottom and on the sides of the ...

Re: How can you tell if your machine is going on the blink

Thanks for all the replies. Yes maybe I'm just so used to the pressure that it doesn't seem to be as strong.

I had sleepyhead on my old computer but it went and died on me so now I'm only dealing with my phone and an iPad. I guess I could take it into the docs office to have him check it out.

How can you tell if your machine is going on the blink

Lately I have not been feeling very rested and am noticing that I'm waking up more often again during the night. It seems the air being pushed out of the machine does not feel as strong as it used to but it's reading that it is giving the same amount of air. I'm trying to figure out if the machine m...

Re: colonoscopy

I too am going to have one on February 9th. They will use versed and I think fentynal. The doc knows I use a mask at night but did not seem concerned. Should I be concerned?? I'm a little nervous about this whole thing. They will also be doing an endoscopy at the same time. They said the whole proce...

Just wanted to say....

Just wanted to say thank you to all the kind folks here that helped me out. It's been six months now on cpap and things seems to be getting better as I go. Thank you for helping me out with the stuffy nose issue in the beginning of my treatment and all the other newbie questions I asked. Happy New Y...

Cpap pillow

I see they make special pillows for those of us that use a full face mask. I have developed like a pinched nerve in my neck from sleeping awkwardly on my pillow with the mask. I woke up with it one morning and it's been 5 days, can hardley turn my neck to the left without intense pain. My question i...

Re: Using cpap with ear infection

Thank you both for your replies. In the meantime my pulmonologist's nurse practitioner called me back. At first she said to stop using it for a couple days but I told her then I'll get no sleep. She said if my ears don't hurt then ok to try and use it which mine don't hurt they just feel funny. I as...

Using cpap with ear infection

Hi all, Have had bronchitis and sinus infection for a week now. The ER docs told me to stay on the cpap. Now I just got back from my doctor and I also have an ear infection. I know this is not caused by the cpap but caused by my allergies to ragweed. My question is does anyone know if it is safe to ...

Re: Waking up in the night

Yes I have the same problem. I told my sleep doc that I felt like my dreams were waking me up. After the sleep study she determined that I had REM related sleep apnea. On cpap now but I still wake up every two hours but have no problem going back to sleep. The info from my data card shows I am impro...

Re: Allergen white filter

Ah, thanks so much for popping in with that info. I may think twice about even using this thing. If you use a humidifier this filter will clog right up. Not only will it restrict air flow to you it also reduces events the machine can detect. Not a good idea Esp. if you have an auto machine. Search t...

Re: first week washing equipment

I was told to wash the humidifier tank and the mask cushion daily in dish soap and water and rinse well. Let air dy. Once a week I take apart the mask and wash that in dish soap and rinse well along with the hose, the filter and humidifier tank. Let everything air dry. I hang the hose on a hanger fo...

Re: Allergen white filter

Thanks! Thanks all! My allergies are going through the roof! Ragweed is killing me. Just left the doctor..... Allergic rhinitis and bronchitis. I was thinking even though I leave my windows closed that maybe some of that ragweed is still seeping into the house. So put white filter in first fuzzy sid...

Re: Allergen white filter

Thanks for the info. Yes I clean my foam filters every week. I wash them in soapy water and then rinse well. I have 2 of them so while one is drying I have the other. Philips Respironics says to wash the grey foam filter every two weeks and replace at 6 months. They say to replace the white filter e...

Fuzzy side faces outwards toward the foam filter. It's the fuzzy stuff that catches particles. Think about how the air flow through the machine and what you want the filter to do.
