Glad someone asked this question, I wanted to know the same thing, but didn't want to sound dumb (well, dumber than normal anyway).

Thanks all for your feedback, think I'm headed in the right direction. I appreciate the thoughts on upgrading to the Auto Cflex , but at this point, the machine isn't the problem, the mask is. Let me get that one taken care of first, one thing at a time. Maybe once I start getting some sleep, real s...

As someone who has had the surgury, I definitly would not recommend it for weight loss. I did drop a few pounds, but it wasn't nearly worth the pain I went through. When they told me a 2 week recovery, I was like "ya, right, I'll be fine". Wrong. I was off my feet competely for 3-4 days, was more li...

Thanks Chrisp. I've been working on the sleep hygeine thing, don't think there is anything that is making the situation worse. I don't drink much caffeine, 1-2 cup in the morning, never any after noon, very rarely drink caffeinated soda/drinks, more of a water drinker. I think the mask just doesn't ...

Liam , you ain't right. Managed to make me smile on a tough day. I love the forum as well, just wish I knew about it a year ago. But it was actually my surgeon who told me about it, after my failed "roto-rooter" surgery, and I've learned more on this forum in the last few weeks than I did in over a...

I'm a marketing manager for a manufacturing company that makes plasma cutters (no, we don't cut blood). And as you might guess by my handle, I also coach youth hockey (NH state champs!!!!) and am involved as an administrator with our state hockey association.

Grantham!! Heck, we're almost neighbors.

No, not Keene, wish I had used them. Doctor gave me a choice of 3, they were one, but then he suggested I use the "new guys in town", Lincare. Big mistake.

Sorry again, feel like I vented a bit too much. Its just frustrating. I work in marketing, I know what it takes to create and maintain customer loyalty & satisfaction. Its just alwasy amazed me that the medical field in general doesn't seem to look at us patients as customers. Sounds like you've got...

Thanks for the links to the medical research, looks like a viscous cycle between OSA & wieght gain. I've noticed it, over the last year as my OSA was getting worse, I was gaining more & more wieght, which only seemed to make me even more tired. And its not just obese people, i'm probably only 20-30 ...

I have a HUGE problem with my DME. I can't think of any other expirience I've had with any company that's been worse. I was diagnosed with OSA about 6 months ago. My doctor prescribed me a Cpap through a large, national DME that has a local office. The doctor wanted me on it ASAP. Well, after trying...

Hi Liam, glad to see a fellow New Hampster on the site.

I too have been less than satisfied with my DME supplier, they seem to be of no help at all, I've gotten 100 times more info and help from this site than I ever have from them.

So many times, local DME companies give you poor fitting masks, and cpap machines without even instruction. First off, as a newbie, what does DME mean? I'm assuming you're talking about the medical supply company, and I agree, they are a pain to work with, that was one of the reasons I gave up on th...

I had the surgury, and it did me no good at all. I had my turbinates, adnoids & tonsils, and my uvula all removed, and I feel exacly they same, just with less money now. Apparently my tongue is too big, it slids back down and obstructs the airway. So I'm headed back to the cpap, after trying and hat...
