Re: Sweet Smell after taking mask off?
I experience this, too, and just assumed it was my hair. I figured that I become nose-blind to the scent of my shampoo and hair products since my hair is hanging beside my face all day. But after breathing filtered air all night, my brain forgets my hair scent. When I take the mask off, I suddenly s...

Re: Woo-hoo! Slept w/o my chin strap last night!
The grammar in my last post is annoying me, lol. go back and edit it Nah, I'll leave it. It's a reminder that I'm not perfect. I need that now and then or else my head gets so big that it won't fit in my car any more. Congrats! I was surprised how fast I learned to sleep without it. One thing that ...

Re: Second sleep study, will they know if I drink?
Neither the amount of alcohol consumed nor the frequency with which it is consumed speak to dependence. Whether or not one can easily skip consuming without anxiety or negative emotional response speaks to dependence. Some alcoholics drink only once per week. Some alcoholics drink 1-2 beers every ni...

And yes, I've joined the Cult of Nose-hosing. Never gonna look back. It's always great when you can stop using a piece of gear like...

Woo-hoo! Slept w/o my chin strap last night!
The last time I tried to sleep without my chin strap, I woke up less than an hour later with a wind tunnel in my mouth. Not pleasant. I had resigned myself to having to wear the darned thing forever, even though it feels like I'm clenching my jaw from it when I wake up. So, last night I decided to g...

Re: Frustration: aerophagia & pillow rainout
A few of the OA's that are being recorded are actually when I took the mask off because I had woken up. I have auto start/stop enabled, so I take it off and it just blows mad air for a few seconds before it figures out that I'm not wearing it, lol. Oddly enough, these times don't make a blip on the...

Re: Frustration: aerophagia & pillow rainout
Nah, it's not from washing them. LOL! I mean, I do keep them clean with a baby wipe but don't dunk them and suds them up but once a week or so. And they are completely dry when I put them on. If they haven't dried entirely from the previous night's water, I get a q-tip and gently dry the insides. Th...

Update on aerophagia and rainout after several nights with new settings: AHI is hovering around .5 or less. A few of the OA's that are being recorded are actually when I took the mask off because I had woken up. I have auto start/stop enabled, so I take it off and it just blows mad air for a few sec...

Re: 7 Months into my Therapy and Doing Pretty Good
I know this is an old post, but I'm bumping it up since it didn't get significant responses. I am finding that I experience this same thing. I love my swift fx for her. It's really comfortable and after a few days of trying out the different sizes of pillows, I've settled on mediums and they don't h...

Re: Frustration: aerophagia & pillow rainout
Ugh. So, I guess the Quattro, in any size, is out. And now I have a small that I just ordered that doesn't work. That's how it goes, I guess. I made myself three different liners to try, of varying thicknesses. One, the recommended thin cotton jersey. The second a soft but thin microfleece. Thicker ...

Re: Those who make your own mask liners
I agree with all previous post but wanted to add 1 more I encountered while working with pts. I had an older gentleman come in one day for a download. He had a cpap on pretty high pressures (18cwp I believe) and he was using a full face mask. I thought the download would show a lot of leakage (high...
