Re: Most Important CPAP Feature/Attribute
Breathability - but that includes fast response in pressure changes, recognizing pressure relief needs and being flexible between auto-adjusting and hard-set options. I'd love to have some built-in options for aromatherapy (I'm still working on finding some that work for me) and anything that might ...

Re: Mask Variety
That's good to know Pugsy - cause I can already tell that I'll need to replace my existing headgear when insurance says I can. The material is stretched from all my nighttime movements and it's getting harder to keep it adjusted just right. But these pillows are very forgiving and move around to kee...

Re: Mask Variety
Is it recommend to have a FFM as backup for times when you have a cold with lots of congestion? I LOVE my nasal pillows but dread the next cold I catch.

Re: One month compliance - that was fast...
It's just disheartening. But I guess I shouldn't complain - I have insurance and I'm being treated. The alternative would be downright scary.

Re: One month compliance - that was fast...
Well... Had my doc appointment and they put me on supplemental oxygen at night along with my cpap. She said I was going below 88% saturation through much of the night. What I don't understand.... Is how they decided I needed oxygen when no one has looked at my data since starting cpap. I would think...

Re: One month compliance - that was fast...
My doc ordered an overnight pulse-ox this past weekend. I should find out the results today. I called my doc for the results yesterday and maybe not too surprising ... The DME reported to my doc that the results show that I need cpap. My doc was confused by their report and simply replied back "she...

For some people asthma presents in the form of coughing. Technically it is called bronchial spasms, or at least that is what it says on my little card I now carry after ending up in ER. Scent is a form of "Volatile Organic Compounds" or VOCs and certain VOCs will trigger asthma attacks. You may wan...

Re: One month compliance - that was fast...
Have you thought about increasing that minimum pressure? Like from 7.0 to 7.5? I'll give that a shot tonight. I've been at 7 for over a week... Slowly tightening up the pressure range. I've thought about experimenting with the pressure relief but I'm not sure if it would be better to set it for mor...

Have you tried to move the cotton ball farther away from the air inlet? Maybe it is too strong. I did try moving it.... But I find that it's in a different place in the morning. Either the ceiling fan or my cat is moving it overnight. Lol Maybe if I could find some kind of container that is cat pro...

One month compliance - that was fast...
Apparently my insurance requires only one month compliance period. Got my " congratulations" call a couple weeks ago. Took a couple conversations with the DME to convince them, but the modem is now returned. My doc ordered an overnight pulse-ox this past weekend. I should find out the results today....

Snoring and OAs last night
I have my pressure set to 6.5-10 and seemed to be doing okay the past few days. Lower AHIs (2.7 - 5) Last night it wasn't a terrible AHI but for some reason my OAs were terrible. I snored a lot. More than I have since starting cpap. Nothing changed so I'm not sure why last night was different. If I ...

Maybe you just need help forgetting about the mask as you fall asleep. I use an app on my phone that plays sounds or use meditatation to distract me. I have to focus outside of my body to relax. Hopefully you can find something that works for you.

Re: Ticked off a little
My home sleep study included the nasal tube, a tube with sensor around my chest, and a pulse-ox on my finger. If the nasal tube fell off it would still record your chest movements and inhalations or obstructed attempts at breathing. It also still records oxygen levels from the finger sensor. It real...

I have two cats - Juju and Karma. They're my babies. Juju is 7 years old and we've developed a very close emotional connection - we're about the same "age" right now. Both of them have avoided the bed since I started cpap a month ago. But early this morning I woke to find juju raising her paw over m...

Re: Bad bad bad night. Did I go too far?
Amy Last night? That was Saturday. Saturday I had too much play, too much food and too much alcohol. My night in bed wasn't so good. Had nothing to do with CPAP. You do understand there is a lot more than CPAP settings that affect your sleep? I don't have "too much" of anything these days! Except d...
