Re: How does your insurance bill your accessories and supplies
Because at some point someone else’s information and or how there eob is billed and worded may help someone else get there own bill sorted - since lots of insurance company’s like to screw people over as much as possible. So seeing how supplies are coded and worded on other people’s eobs may help.....

Re: Do I need to change the clock for Daylight Savings Time?
So if I sleep Sunday from midnight to 6am, that's really 7 hours. Will my PR machine know that? Will Encore? Will Sleepyhead?
This will be interesting.
The clock drift thing has given me some odd results on the local screen, but I don't get compliance-checked so no biggie.

Re: Should I get a new machine in 2018?
Your FSA will almost certainly approve a CPAP machine, whether purchased or copay from insurance. If you don't have insurance that will cover your CPAP machine, then now (next year) is a good time to get a new one; and keep the old one as backup. Plan your FSA for full purchase price. If you do have...

Re: I have been told I was wrong..
Hi my name is Dan. I work in a Sleep Lab at Kaiser. You know, one of the other (unrelated) forums I post on, has a little warning message that pops up to say you're responding to a post that's more than 6 months old. Doesn't stop you from posting, but just lets you know, and suggests starting a new...

Re: Sleep Study last night....wow
My first night at home with my CPAP, I realized how long it had been since I had woken up without a headache.
It wasn't instantly perfect, but it was instantly better.

Re: Bed bugs & CPAP
They will hide anyplace dark, and they especially like tight little nooks like the seam in your mattress, joints in your bed frame, etc. They're also attracted by CO2 from your breath, and heat. So I think they'd be more likely to be attracted to your CPAP while you're using it then when they're hid...

Re: Eleven years ago
Assuming you are using the For Her P10 headgear (it's a little smaller than the regular so less chance of stretching out to unusable lengths) they now have some little clips included in the packaging to help take up the tension when the stretching becomes a problem and hot water shrinking no longer...

Re: I had the sleep study from hell
There are sanitary reasons for not bringing things into the sleep study, germs and bed bugs are just two. that's why the pillows are sealed in plastic, nasty humans abound.... Jim I think I got bed bugs from the sleep center - it was either there or the hospital overnight (unrelated but about the s...

Re: Do Sleep MD Specialists Get Promotional Visits from Manufact
Most doctors do not specify a brand on their prescriptions. (Unless the patient asks for a specific brand/model) The indicate CPAP, APAP, BIPAP, ASV and specify a pressure. My doc is in a respiratory group office, and they are somehow associated with the medical supply facility downstairs - I don't...

Re: Sleep Study Tonight!!
I usually fall asleep pretty fast, I was tired, didn't take a pill. (never taken a sleeping pill)
I had a split study -
Fell asleep in 6.5 minutes for the diagnostic portion.
Fell asleep in 7.0 minutes after they put the CPAP on me.
The metric is called "Latency to Sleep Onset" on the report.

Interesting. Here's the study - P factors and confidence intervals and everything. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1365-2869.2009.00754.x/full These findings raise the possibility that sleep-disordered breathing in elderly people is a specific entity different from sleep-disordered brea...

Re: Untreated SA may worsen . . . heart health & diabetes
Thanks DH. The patients were CPAP regulars and the study was done just like a sleep lab, and the findings were that not using the CPAP is bad. Some people will complain about anything. Patients: Thirty-one patients with moderate-severe OSA acclimated to CPAP. Intervention: Patients underwent attende...

Re: Missed Compliance by One Day
My doctor told me they report compliance to my insurance company just in case. After my 2-year follow up he said I don't even need to see him anymore - the only reason would be if I needed insurance validation or if I started having problems. Then my insurance plan changed and the deductible for DME...

Re: System one reservoir capacity
Hi, Does the System One shut off automatically when the reservoir runs dry? Mine shuts off around 6am once in a while. I finally thought to check the reservoir and it was almost empty after about six hours use. There was a thin layer of water on the bottom and the heating plate was hot. I'm in a fa...
