Can you make your own filters, yes. Should you make your own filters. no.
You could make your own coffee filters as well. Will they work properly? For me, it was a resounding "no".

Re: Concerns: Having Surgery, Taking CPAP
My experiences with APAP during hospital stays: My Doctors encouraged my bring the equipment and using it After quick checks of the equipment by hospital engineering (for safety markings and general condition), items were stickered and return to me. Both Nurses and RTs understood the reason for the ...

Re: Need new SD card
As others have said, any SD card will work. The 2 GB card that came with my machine is only about 10% full after 2.5 years of use. I use a PR 560 machine. The ResMed machines may store data differently.

Re: Sleepy Head Program Question
Yes. Time zone is in user profile. To access through SleepyHead, go to File, Access Profile. Make sure the correct time zone is selected. When corrected, click though the next three screens and select Finish.
The above assumes your computer clock is correctly set to GMT.

Re: Semi-obvious travel tips
Andy,
Good advice. I travel on business about 30 percent of any given month, and carry an extension cord and a a flat outlet adapter that accommodates up to three appliances in one outlet. Some older hotels in North America have too few outlets.
Cheers!

Re: got my 1st bill today from performace home medical
Hi, They've been my DME provider for the past 1-1/2 years, as they are an approved provider for Regence (BCBS) Washington. They are NOT an approved Medicare-direct provider. I currently have a Medicare Advantage plan with Regence. The amounts shown on their delivery tickets and invoices are "fantasy...

Re: Cpap cleaning and care guidelines
OP,
What palerider said.
We all arrive at what we believe is "proper care" of our equipment based on "guidelines" offered by manufacturers.
Sheesh!

Re: p10 pillows
Hi,
Am going on nearly eight months on AirFit P10, with both the nasal pillows and the headgear still near-new. No "major" leaks if properly positioned. I do have replacement nasal pillows and a new P10 if need be.
Happy PAPping!

Re: Hospitals are NOT prepared for xPAP...
I was in overnight for a procedure last summer. Discussed my OSA with the Surgeon a couple of weeks before the event and then he and the Anesthesiologist the morning of the event. As I was intubated and on an O2 blend while under, xPAP was not an option then. Hospital staff was glad I had my own gea...

Had a surgical procedure last summer that required an overnight stay. Informed Dr. of XPAP use, and was encouraged to bring machine for use after recovery. Experience was positive.

Hi,
I've used Performance Home Medical. They service western Washington only. They accept Medicare, and service has been ok so far. They sometimes have billing problems, but my Med Advantage provider keeps them honest, as do I.

Re: Why Don't Suppliers Tell People About This?
I autostart feature, but not the autostop feature. It was setup that way when I received the machine. The DME provider did not explain this and other features. I was on my own after I left the office.

Re: Changing Filters
Hi, I've found monthly fine filter changes for my PRS1 machine is about right. I have yet to replace the foam filter after over a year of use. It's washed and rinsed weekly, and looks like it was new. I wondered if the filters were designed in to protect the machines rather than the patients. After ...

Re: First time Traveler with machine and forgot power cord!
Hi,
If you're anywhere near a Fry's, they'd probably have a suitable replacement cord as well. The "brick" end is common for electronic devices. Bring the power supply to make sure they can help you find a cord.

Re: How much data can the card hold?
Hi,
I'm into therapy a bit over a year, and have 50+ Mb on the card. At that rate, the (2GB) card would be full in about 40 years.
I'll be long gone well before that.
