Re: Used Tap Pap for first time last night

I had a similar version I think it was CPAP pro. same concept but the lower part of the mouth guard was hard plastic. I kept clinching my jaw on it and felt like I was breaking teeth. Does the Tap Pap have an entire softer plastic for the entire mouth guard? Aside from location (Tap Pap being on up...

Re: Used Tap Pap for first time last night

I boiled and fit the mouth piece yesterday. Like Pugsy, I can now open my mouth and it stays put. It was totally secure last night with no leaks. I have back issues so I flip and flop a lot and no leaks whatsoever no matter what position I was in. I can't say how much I love this thing so far!!

Used Tap Pap for first time last night

I started cpap several months ago and have been underwhelmed. Just last week I finally figured out all the (mild, negligible according to Sleepyhead) leaks are driving me nuts. I guess I'm just sensitive to that noise/feeling. So I thought I'd try some different masks. I ordered the Tap Pap first an...

Re: Doc told me most people aren't interested in data

Wow, I leave for a day or two and look at my thread, lol. I drive my husband nuts by not bothering to learn how to run all his (boring and complicated) TV settings. On the other hand, my health isn't at stake with that. Quite a few years ago I had to see a neurologist for a chronic issue. I asked hi...

Re: OT: ketogenic diet?

I eat a high protein/lowish carb diet. It's called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I have Crohn's and that's what this diet is for. It's almost identical to paleo. Weight falls off, you're never hungry, health improves immeasurably, pain reduced significantly. I'm actually back on it for life now af...

Right, lol, I'm the same. I know NOTHING compared to people here. My doc would be stunned.

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

It's been about 6 weeks since starting CPAP. I've listed my improvements below. I'm posting this to encourage others who maybe don't feel like a million bucks immediately. I seem to be on a gradual incline rather than a sudden burst. I've got years of sleep deprivation to make up for so I'm learning...

Doc told me most people aren't interested in data

When I saw my doc (sleep study specialist- neurologist) for my followup he was pleasantly shocked that I brought my card in and that I'd been tracking my data on Sleepyhead. He told me most people don't do this. The way he said it and based on his reaction to my interest made me think I was his only...

Re: Claustrophibia with nasal pillows

There's a virus going around the forum and the main symptom is mask envy. You may or may not succumb to it. I think I may have this virus. In fact, I think I caught it before my titration. I spent some time looking at masks and got it into my head that since I don't mouth breathe the nasal pillows ...

Re: Take a sleeping pill or not on test night?

I was told to take everything I normally take, which included 25-50 mg of diphenhydramine (benadryl). I did mention this specifically, and they said take it since I normally take it.

Re: Claustrophibia with nasal pillows

Thanks y'all. Actually I'm not using pillows right now . I tried and rejected them at my titration study, which was several weeks ago. I've never actually slept in pillows. I yanked them off at the titration due to feeling like I couldn't exhale properly and was going to "suffocate" due to "too much...

Claustrophibia with nasal pillows

I kind of panicked due to feeling like I was suffocating when I tried nasal pillows at my titration study and couldn't get them yanked off fast enough. The tech said it was because I had to exhale against the pressure. She said the more room in the mask the more area for exhalations to disperse. The...

Hi JC and welcome. I felt the same way as you after my titration study. Who knew you could feel that good? Is that what other people feel like??

If you have Windows 8 it comes with a program called Snip. You can use that as well.

Re: OK, Sleepyhead Graphs, requesting feedback

Thank you both. I did in fact see all the snoring and was wondering about that contributing to my tiredness. In fact, I just checked to see if I could change my pressure myself but can't. Wow, if getting the snoring under control will make me feel as good as I did after my titration I'm pretty excit...
