Resmed n301 is putting dents in my head

At first it seemed like when I washed my hair everything went back to normal However, when I started cutting my hair very short the dents persisted. Now I am wondering if I should go back to my old P10. I've seen some posts where it seems like the mask was too tight. I'm wondering if I loosen it I w...

Nuance Pro vs. AirFit P10

I have been using the AirFit P10 for almost 5 years now but got tired of fiddling with the straps. I tried the clips they give you but these are a bust and don't grab well enough. What I wound up doing is cutting the straps and then stapling them inside out where I wanted them. I would have to redo ...

Take CPAP when traveling

I have had a perfect record of using my CPAP every night for the last four years. However, this coming summer, I am planning a trip to Norway for 8 to 14 days. As much as I depend on my machine, it is huge (Resmed S9 with humidifier). I am wondering about taking it. Can I get by for that period with...

Re: Residue in humidifier

Thanks for your help on this. Our power did go out very briefly the other night and this may account for the residue. I since soaked everything in extra strong vinegar and thoroughly sanitized it. I will try both the drop of chlorine and the salt trick. Thanks again.

Residue in humidifier

Recently I noticed residue floating in my humidifier tank. Coincidentally it was right after developing a cold. I cleaned it out thoroughly and refilled it. The next day I checked and found the beginning strands of something forming again. I regularly clean my tank, hoses, mask and filters. Any word...

Re: 3-Month Update and Request for Advice

I had some issues like this when I first started but when I went back to my sleep doctor for advice, not another titration, I wound up connecting with a very savy tech. Although I already knew how to program my machine, he showed me how and had me gradually tweak my way over a few weeks to a setting...

Re: How to handle gallon jugs of distilled water!

If you have a PRS1 machine, or the dishwashable S9 tank, it's OK to use tap water. Just dump the water out every morning and rinse it. At worst, you may have to replace the tank a little more often. The standard S9 tank says distilled water only, but personally, I wouldn't worry about that. Distill...

Re: Matress Question

Wow! So many variables. We have a king-size King Koil mattress that we got from Art Van furniture. I have always been able to fall asleep immediately on it no matter when I lay down. I have found that as far as my AHI reading goes though, the pillow I use has more to do with it. I have found that th...

Re: Resmed S9 & Camping

I've camped quite a bit this year with my S9 although I have a popup and electricity available. One thing I have noticed when camping though is my filter gets dirty in a hurry. I usually change it when I come back home. Other than that, camping with my CPAP has been very enjoyable and I have had som...

Re: S9 Accuracy

Thanks for your reply. You're right, I brought the Tidal Volume graph up under my mask pressure and there is a slight dip. The same for the rest of the events as well. I guess it doesn't take much to qualify as a hypopnea. I'm still trying to fine tune everything so I can get as close to 0 AHI as po...

S9 Accuracy

I have been using my S9 for 6.5 months now and this forum has been more help to me than both my sleep doctor and my DME. I use the Sleepyhead software to check my progress and I also have a helpful tech who works for my sleep doctor. However, I am wondering about how my S9 records hypopneas. When I ...

Thanks Pugsy,

I recently took it on a camping trip and something must have gotten out of whack. I appreciate your input.

Usage reads 24.0 hours??

All of a sudden my ResMed S9 Elite Autoset started giving me a usage reading of 24.0 hours each night. Anyone know why this may be and what I need to do to fix it. Thanks for any help on this.

ResMed S9 Epr settings

I recently found out from the tech at my doctors office that the epr setting would help me. I was leaking very badly and setting epr to 3 really helped. I noticed though that there are settings 1, 2, 3, and Patient. What does "Patient" mean? Is this some automatic setting that tunes the relief press...
