Longtime Hoser

Was on the hose for about 7 years when I noticed the symptoms returning, got an auto machine and found that I was being treated at around 2 cm higher pressure. That was 4 years ago and I've been back to an acceptable normal ever since. So, in my case the successful treatment pressure changed over th...

what machine is best??????

Depends on who you ask! Have you looked at the (Everest - Aura - Polaris TR) or what ever name they are using today? It has some nice features integrated battery and heated humidifier (which jacks up the price). Mine is noisier than the REMstar plus (classic), about a tad more noisy than my son's Go...

Do you have the ResLink attachment? If not you would have to connect your Spirit directly to your computer. Do you have a Smart Media card reader? If not you can use camera (which uses the S/M card) to download into your pc. (I have downloaded sleep data from my AutoSet Advantage using a Nikon D70.)...

Hey! Tom: My experience is similar to yours. Got my Tranquility in 96, also set at 7cm. After about 6 years I increased the pressure every couple of weeks and ended up at 9cm.The therapy was a God send, haven't slept one night without it either. Even though my first masks (Healthdynes) were torture ...

I seldom use the same interface two nights in a row. The reasoning is that each mask will ride harder on different areas of the face.

My most used mask is the Activa, have two and swap them every night. I"m sure that the straps are not set up exactly the same.

If you are male, you might mant to get a nice close haircut.

If you are a doper, it would be wise to leave your stash at home.

Soon after starting therapy I changed masks every night, even though they were the same model (Healthdyne "torture mask"). A month or so later later I was introduced to the ADAM nasal pillows system, which helped a great deal. However, I soon found that I was better off rotating my three interfaces....

The cushion fits into the channel of the frame, then the cushion clip goes over and around the cushion and snaps onto the frame. Sounds like you may have misplaced the clip.

I use two Ultra Mirages with (Activa forehead supports) which makes them essentually IIs.

Anyway, make sure that the vent cover is snapped in evenly and that the cushion is properly installed. I usually find that the problem is the latter.

Whisteling Swift

Had pillows that whistled, fortunately that size didn't give the best comfort.

Experienced some leaking, but found that taking the thing apart and reassembling stopped the leaking.

News Flash!!!

We do NOT live in a perfect world.

Many if not most medical decisions are made based on economics.

Some treatment for a sleep disorder is probably better than none.

I use distilled water!

However, what difference does it really make?

You end up with the gunky stuff in the bottom of your distiller or in the bottom of your water chamber. And water vapor up your nose.
