Re: Flying with CPAP
I was looking for a cheaper alternative that would permit a quick snooze on a night flight (say a 5-6 hr nap) & would be approved/allowed, I was wondering if anyone would have some advice...... There isn't anything like that. For context, flying between Australia and the USA. QANTAS is very good in...

Re: Using D cells for that once-in-10-year emergency event
I'm not sure that is a good idea, but if you want to pursue it, you might want to look at multiple 6V Lantern Batteries as an alternative to multiple 1.5V D cells.

Re: Provider mentioned I cant use SD card with rental Airsense 10 Autoset
but what we take from this lesson, Boys and Girls, is that DME's in Australia lie just as much as US DME's. You know nothing about the market in Australia. There are no DMEs , just ordinary retailers sell that xPAP kit to end users who pay for it largely out of their own pockets. Long term hi...

Re: Provider mentioned I cant use SD card with rental Airsense 10 Autoset
The problem is, I spoke to them on the phone and told them I would like to use an SD card to read my data through OSCAR and they said this isn't possible. Is that a verbatim quote, or a paraphrase? They mentioned that they automatically capture data through their own Resmed software and they are ab...

Re: AirMini - air seeping from the hose connector
Well, when I say "precious" air, I'm referring to the stuff mined by the CPAP machine from the surrounding area and sent in an expensive tube in the direction of my head. But if the air emission is strictly exhaled air, then I withdraw my whine. :D Look up Venturi effect ... the air that continuall...

Re: AirSense 11 Algorithm
For sure, they would have touted a "new, improved" algorithm had they changed it. Why for sure ? xPAP devices are subject to regulatory approval (pretty much everywhere they are sold) and the vendors of such devices are quite unlikely to ever make a puffy claim like that about therapeutic benefits....

Re: AirSense 11 Algorithm
The press release doesn't say that, so its a bit of a leap to assume they are identical.
Real world performance data from a wide variety of users will be needed to confirm/deny differences.

Re: Resmed Airsense 11 - AC/DC adapter?
With that in mind, do you think the Air Mini DC adapter would work on the Airsense 11, even though the stats match? Without schematics for both devices (which are not publicly available) there is no way of knowing with any certainty. AFAIK there is a significant size difference in the form-factor o...

Re: Resmed Airsense 11 - AC/DC adapter?
iirc - the S8 was a simple straightforward 12V power cord - it was the S9 were they went to 24V DC and tripled the cost of the DC cord. I'm pretty sure that S8 DC barrel connector is still available and that could be used on 12 or 24V. <sigh> The S9 and later flow generators have a substanti...

Re: Resmed Airsense 11 - AC/DC adapter?
Sad companies resort to these kinds of tactics to squeeze money from patients. In fact, the third-party electronics market that supplies parts to manufacturers has moved on from bulk availability of the style of power connector used on the A10 (and a bunch of other devices from other manufactures)....

Re: List of Resmed's late and current cpap machines
I'm wanting to know if there's a historical list of all of ResMed's CPAP machines to the current S11? Well, in terms of the mainstream Resmed devices, the sequence over the past two decades basically is: S6 -> S7 > S8 -> S8II -> S9 -> A10 -> A11 In general there have been three models in the OSA tr...

Re: Redesigned AirFit N30i
I had been using the older (hard plastic) N30i nose piece, but it was indeed noisy compared to the similar P30i equivalent.
The new N30i nose piece is basically made using the P30i exhaust filter design and is MUCH quieter than the original one. A well worthwhile improvement for me!
