Climate line and hose cover?
Hi all. I use the Climateline hose with my S9 VPAP with the humidity set to the manual setting so that I can control the heat and humidity independently. I usually seem to do best with a middling humidity setting and a low temperature setting (70-74). Lately however, due to the house being so dry, I...

Incidentally, the primary go-to med for mild asthma isn't a steroid it's albuterol, but it may be contraindicated if you have an underlying issue with anxiety.

Re: Frustrating visit to the dr regarding asthma. Dejected.
My son was diagnosed with asthma at about 18 months, and over the years as I helped with his treatment it became apparent that I also have it. Coughing is the primary symptom for us -- by the time either one of us reaches the wheezing stage we're in pretty sorry shape. I'd recommend that you go to a...

Re: How many people have a back up unit?
Finding a backup is something that I need to look into. I've been putting it off because it appeared that I might need to step up to an ASV unit, but now it seems that bipap will be sufficient. I have an S9 VPAP Auto now. If I dont find another at a good price what other machines might serve well as...

Re: Restarting CPAP Therapy
Probably my issue is the mask I have feels restrictive. I was trying to read the other night with my Kindle and was having trouble with the bridge going to my head. I also have glasses which I can't where with the mask if I want to watch tv. Another issue Is I tend to go from my back to my side, an...

Re: Restarting CPAP Therapy
Evmeister: Sounds like you are headed for better success this time around. Your AHI readings are already pretty good, though its tough to get the full picture without leak data. Your adjustable bed can help reduce your nasal congestion. With the bed set somewhere at about a 30 degree angle you shoul...

Re: Another question...Sorry to bother you
When trying on masks, be sure to lie on the ground and roll around to see how the mask responds. Sheriff After that if you wag your tail they might give you a treat. I have a narrow nose bridge and have had the most luck with the Quattro FX so far. I think it rides a little lower down on the nose t...

Re: Inspired Therapy
I was aware that devices like this were being developed but I didn't realize any were actually ready for the market. Maybe soon we'll see feedback here on the forum from some real live patients. I wonder if the device causes some sleep issues itself as it activates the muscles... And how often it ta...

Re: sleeping completely upright to prevent OSA?
I broke four ribs last weekend and couldn't sleep lying down at all, so I've been sleeping in a cushy chair with pillows (not a recliner). Before this accident, a good night for me would be below 10 AHI... hardly ever would I see less than 5, and I figured that was good enough because I felt like I...

Seems like a major step forward for central apnea patients if it works. First true "out of the box" advance in apnea treatment since CPAP?

Re: Sleep loss and false memories
I don't recall who it was that I was listening to a few years back but in an interview with a sleep researcher who had been studying sleep patterns for many years the researcher made a couple of points that stood out: 1. For "normal" sleepers, he had never seen anyone who claimed to get by on four ...

Re: sleeping completely upright to prevent OSA?
I had shoulder surgery last January and found it necessary to sleep in a recliner due to shoulder pressure. I wore a cervical collar and used my BiPap. Sleeping more upright with head support worked fine for me--my AHI was better than sleeping flat in a bed. It was a good thing because I was in the...
