Very low AHI but not good sleep
The last several nights I've had under 1.0 AHI with two nights 0.0., however I don't feeling like i'm sleeping well. Again like before I started CPAP I have to get up more than once to pee, and I awake several times per night with what I think are lengthy periods awake. I am able to lucid dream so I...

Re: cpap machine
I've lost 48lbs since starting my CPAP and still cannot lower the pressure below 12. I've had ONE BOTTLE of wine per day since I was 20 years old. I started exercising a couple months into CPAP. I no longer really craved carbs for some reason, so my eating got better. I didn't need to sleep in the d...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?
My symptoms over the years were pretty extreme daytime sleepiness, even falling asleep at the wheel. Snoring bad enough my parrot mocked me when I sat down in my TV chair, Waking all sweaty with a racing heartbeat. Irritability. High blood pressure. Fast resting pulse. I'd say ask your partner if yo...

Re: Done. Finished. I GIVE UP!
Don't give up. it takes a while but the benefits are so valuable. I've been at this for a year and I'm 100% compliant now. I finally have it down and have done it for a long time. I finally found all the proper pillows ( a buckwheat ) is essential to me, the proper sleep positions. I'm entirely used...

Re: An "ah ha" moment this morning with mask...
The hovercraft analogy was the best I've seen. I put my mask on, let it warm up before I make any adjustments. Then with the Mirage I crank the knob until the leak stops then back it out a click at a time until it comes back, then in a click at a time. I'd swear letting the mask warm up makes a big ...

Re: request: resmed s8 (any version) teardown/disassembly
Hey that was a good idea pulling that battery to clear the code. I saw the battery and never even crossed my mind to try that although I do it
on computers all the time. Too bad it didn't work. I don't have a schematic and really tried to find one.

Re: When can one discontinue CPAP useage
I've lost 48lbs. My blood pressure has gone from 158/108 to 117/77. Resting pulse 98 to 43. I started at 48AHI now under 1.0 sometimes 0.0 but I think that may be a glitch. I turned down my pressure from 12 to 8 and my AHI shot up to 42, so I look at CPAP like eyeglasses I doubt you can ever go with...

Re: request: resmed s8 (any version) teardown/disassembly
I also couldn't find a reset. I used to jtag sat. IRDs so I have all the stuff, however no software to interface with this device. I agree it's the flow sensor or the other part. I looked all over for schematic to no avail. Water shorted something. It could be an IC, or something simple. I have deso...

Re: request: resmed s8 (any version) teardown/disassembly
I had that problem as well with the "nested" header. I did get the unit back together after fiddling with it for a couple hours. It threw the same error. I had fun messing with it but never got it to work. I think I saved it in the garage somewhere but since we had the same error code I doubt any pa...

Re: Update on HUBBY
So far, hubby is on nothing more than "ibuprophen as needed", but hubby is worried enough about too many NSAIDs to take as much ibuprophen as he could take. That said, as often as not, he does take 400mg of ibuprophen almost every day. He is seldom willing to take a second dose regardless of how muc...

Re: request: resmed s8 (any version) teardown/disassembly
Someone gave me an S8 with exactly the same troubles. He said it sucked up some water from the humidifier. I disassembled and dried it out with a hair dryer but never got it to work. I too wondered about the two components. The first I could get from Mouser. At the time the other one didn't cross ov...

I got this until I started using a buckwheat pillow with another regular pillow. I also take a couple Ibuprofen an hour before bed. Have not had any trouble since
I started this regimen.

I take calcium, magnesium, and D.I cannot tell any difference after a couple months, but it doesn't hurt anything and is cheap. I'm
going to continue.
