Re: CPAP humidifier question
Are you using a heated hose or non heated hose? I am using a heated hose but rarely turn it on. I've tried it off and at a setting on 1, but haven't seen a difference in water usage. Better on or off, do you think? Maybe I'll run the unit for an hour with the humidity setting on 1, check the temp, ...

Re: CPAP humidifier question
Hi Pugsy! Great to hear from you, and thanks for the quick reply.
According to my smart thermostat, the ambient humidity in my bedroom is ~30%. Large leaks are non-existent. Last night, pressure ranges from EPAP 8-11, 14-16 IPAP. Still rockin' the P10 on ASV.

Re: CPAP humidifier question
I have a similar question and hope I'm not hijacking this thread. Moderators, feel free to thump me if this post is inappropriate. First and foremost, it has been a while since I visited this site, and it is nice to see some familiar names. I appreciate all the help over the years. You folks got me ...

Re: Leaving on trip
I had good luck using an Ace bandage. I'm not sure of the science behind it but after a few months, I stopped being a mouth breather and no longer need it.

Re: Nasal mask better for side sleeper?
One more proponent of nasal pillows. I am a side-sleeper and rarely have any leaks even with the high pressures of ASV.

Re: NOT SEEING MY POSTS
Pugsy, you're right and all the immature mudslinging makes my stomach turn. It seems every thread gets hijacked into more worthless banter about bullies and libtards. Who wants to read through so much bickering? This used to be a forum focused on all things CPAP in the spirit of helping others. Now ...

Re: Dorking with ASV Settings as a Test?
you might get by on an auto bipap but then you might not but you could try it and see My goal is to see how I would fare with CPAP and possible invest in a small travel model. I don't believe they make mini BiPAPs. your numbers indicate you need an ASV and wont do that well on a cpap Which numbers,...

Dorking with ASV Settings as a Test?
I am considering a little experiment. Sure, I could pay up the wazoo for a sleep study but why not dork with my machine and generate my own results. As I've posted in many a thread, I travel quite frequently. I'd live to get me one of them new-fangled card-deck-sized travel CPAPs but they don't make...

Re: Traveling with an ASV Machine
Okay, I'll chime in. I've spent each week of the last month travelling - off to Atlanta for a week; Atlanta to Miami for a night; Miami to Lima plus 7 days darting across Peru before coming back home; home to St. Louis and back; and another trip to St. Louis arriving back just today. I look forward ...

Re: TSA Precheck: CPAP can stay under cover
I frequently travel for work. My machine is big, bulky (PRS1 960 ASV), and I would love to get something small and light weight if I could. Shout out to PR and Resmed - make a portable ASV, please! My machine goes into the travel bag that came with it, and is then placed inside my four wheel Samsoni...

Re: ASV and (another) High Altitude Question
Happy to share.
Truth be told, don't know that I would go back. Peru was never on the bucket list but when a cousin decided to get married there, we jumped at the opportunity. Wife and I did Costa Rica last year and had a much better time.

Re: ASV and (another) High Altitude Question
Hi Palerider. I just got home after a work trip and was able to make some time for a better share. Here is a more detailed overview: Day 1 - Late arrival in Lima. Spend the night in the Wyndham Hotel attached to the airport. Way overpriced at $225 but very convenient Day 2 - Took a taxi from the hot...

Re: ASV and (another) High Altitude Question
Welcome back, Uncle Flapp! Some of us would be interested in a travelogue Good to be back! We did Lima, Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Callientes, and Machu Picchu. Lots to see - a week wasn't enough! There were three things that stood out to me: 1) the sheerness and height of the mountains with their...

Re: ASV and (another) High Altitude Question
Curious if you ran on battery at all and if so was the power consumption much more than lower altitudes? I'm only using xPAP (no ASV) but thinking about a trip to Chile for the 2019 total solar eclipse. I've only been on xPAP as high as ~6000' Nope, no battery. Stayed in hotels every night. Peru us...
