I offered to send these back or donate directly to the VA sleep clinic but no joy in spite of them being new/unopened.
I wouldn't have told that. It looks like a windfall profit for you - $230 - at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer.

D.H - your patience is amazing.
It's not called patience when you are brain-dead.

(Sorry, D.H., I couldn't resist. )

I am very excited that the one night on the CPAP made me feel so good, I just hope it wasnt a case of the "placebo effect."
Maybe getting away from your wife for a night made all the difference?

Re: First week on CPAP, my AHI is still high

Do you really need exhalation relief at those low pressures? I would turn it off. The extra pressure on exhale may help drive the AHI down further. It really varies depending on the individual. I need exhalation relief even with my low pressure in order to get better sleep. It doesn't make much sen...

My goal is to be be below 1 a majority of the time.
Why?

Wouldn't a better goal be to sleep well and feel good?

Re: What if...?

folks with OSA and who use XPAP still have a much higher rate of HF compared with the general population as we age. Ridiculous. Just look at the limitations: Main limitations are the observational study design, the use of administrative databases for all diagnoses, and the inability to eliminate th...

Re: What if...?

Why are rates of OSA increasing .... latest figure I saw was that 1 billion adults now have OSA globally. That is an easy one. Diagnosis. Sleep apnea was not defined as a medical condition until 1965. It took a lot of effort to build up a sleep medicine industry and educate doctors and the public. ...

Little suggestion - rather than your name, it might be an idea to put the thread issue in the title so others interested would take a look.

Hell, I opened the thread just to see what it was. If it had said Noisy Machine, I would never have opened it.

Re: O/T children being hunted

Protect children not guns!!!! The shooter used his father's shotgun. Do you understand that our country will never stop the sale of shotguns to adults? Never. And Texas has a law that adults must keep their guns secured from children. This father did not. Tens of thousands do not. No law will work.

Re: O/T children being hunted

There are just over 50 million children in public schools. 36 students out of 50 million have been killed in shootings in 2018. Deaths per 100,000 = 0.072.

Deaths in automobile accidents = 12.0 per 100,000.

School is one of the safest places a child can be.

Re: Nocturia and drug treatment

You're either greatly underestimating your intake, or you're overstating your urine production. The two just don't add up. Average bladder capacity is somewhere around 500ml, even if you pee at half that, that's only 6 times a day for what you say you're drinking. Yes, something is wrong with Leebe...
