Re: Odd data problem on Respironics System One INFO screen
I know this is an older post, but I thought I would add my experience which led me to this post this morning... My machine is a PR System One REMStar 60 Series Bipap and I too have this random occurrence. For me it doesn't happen very often, maybe once every week or two. The time I start or stop the...

Re: Especially for newly diagnosed - Dealing with Change
Okay, I'm trying to be supportive here but "...anger, denial, depression"? Because you have Sleep Apnea? Really? Holy cow, folks. It's better to know what it is, finally, and get the necessary equipment so you can get it under control. I've read comments on other forums about spouses being "heartsi...

Re: Why cant I sleep longer?
I had EXACTLY the same phenomenon when I started on CPAP. I use to be able to sleep through anything, fall asleep at the drop of a hat and could easily sleep 14 hours if allowed... Problem was, I wasn't getting good REM sleep, so I was tired all the time. First month on CPAP, I felt like a million ...

Re: Why cant I sleep longer?
Does the amount of sleep you're getting seem to be enough for you to have a normal day? Maybe you're one of those who don't need 8 hours to feel rested. If this is all still fairly new to you, it's hard to say how things might look in a few weeks. While your AHI is much improved, it still has room ...

Why cant I sleep longer?
4 nights now using BiPAP set @ 22/18 with AHI down to 3.0-8.0 (Study AHI was 117.7) and I most definitely feel the positive effects from it. I wake up feeling great, wide awake and ready to get up, which I do. The problem is I'm only getting 6 to 6 and a half hours of sleep. I go to bed at 12:00AM a...

Re: New User With Some Concerns
I'm considering trying the scented oils, though you shouldn't put it in the humidifier tank. Put a few drops on a cotton ball or something similar and place it near the filters on the back of the machine where it takes in air. This is what I plan on doing.

Re: New User With Some Concerns
It is interesting that I don't seem to smell it until I take off the mask, and after several hours of use. I don't notice the smell when I turn it on and while using it, or after using it only a short time. I also don't detect that smell coming from the machine/tube/mask at all upon inspection both ...

Re: New User With Some Concerns
When you say the burnt smell persisted for a few hours this morning are you referring to the odor in your bedroom only or are you noticing it in every room of the house? The smell is only in my nose/airway, not actually in the air. I suppose it may not really be a "burnt" smell but maybe just a hea...

Re: New User With Some Concerns
Thank you for the input and advice. Now here's a little update; the 2nd night seemed much less stressful even though I did have a harder time falling asleep, not for any apparent reason other than just not being able to fall asleep and the newness of this thing on my face and the pressure, it probab...

New User With Some Concerns
Hello everyone, my name is Nathan and I am 27 years old. Last night was my first night using a xPAP machine. I have been living with OSA for at least 7 years untreated and finally just recently got it diagnosed and have just begun therapy with my PR System One BiPAP Auto Bi-Flex with ResMed Mirage F...
