One year revisit requirement? Or not??

My DME has never required me to get a new prescription every year, but a DME closer to my home told me I would need a new script every year. A close friend told met the same thing yesterday. Truth or fiction?? Medicare, by the way.

Re: Travel machine

I have an S9 Autoset as my main machine at home. I took it to Europe and while there, it dawned on me that when separating the two parts, I could get by with a non-Climateline hose. I already do NOT use the humidifier, as I do not need it. So, that has been my main travel unit as well. I agree, the ...

Re: OT: hearing aids, again

Chunky - ReSound makes Beltone, so I am guessing they may be a better quality?? Or maybe not.

Re: OT: hearing aids, again

I went to the audiologist last week and since my *new* problems are without wearing the hearing aids, he offered no changes. I have been wearing them nearly every day, as I am inclined to believe what he said about keeping your brain stimulated!

OT: hearing aids, again

I am doing well with my Resound LiNX aids, which are now almost 2 years old. I do not intend to upgrade them yet, but I have noticed some changes in my comprehension, which I always thought was pretty good even without the aids. I seem to be mis-hearing some sounds, such as fifty / sixty and backroo...

Threw out hose, finally

It is the first one I ever got, a Climateline from ResMed. I got it over 2 years ago, and just recently it kept disconnecting if I moved just a bit too far. I got out a new one to see if there was a difference and with the new one, the mask part held much tighter. So, it gave me nearly 2.5 years of ...

Change settings between Climate Line and SlimLine?

I do not use humidity, and for travels it was suggested that I NOT take the humidifier side of the machine, and plug the hose into the side of the machine. My DME said I might have to change settings to show which hose I am using. Anyone know where or how the setting can be changed, if, indeed it ne...

Re: New script every year??

Pugsy, the odd thing is that I "inherited" a machine which needed to be calibrated and I took it to them, provided a copy of the prescription, and paid 50 dollars for them to recalibrate it. I also bought some mask parts, once. I get robo calls from the original DME, and i guess I will stick with th...

Re: New script every year??

There seems to be no consistency!! The same Dr that wanted to know if I wanted the script for a machine or supplies, as I have only had a machine for two years.... At my recent annual checkup with my primary, at the end I mentioned CPAP was on my list. He asked why, and i told him I just wanted to r...

New script every year??

I stopped at a different DME a week ago, as it is much closer to my home. I had been getting my supplies via a canned phone call and then receiving the items by mail. So, the *new* place, which had a copy of my script from a few years ago, told me I need a new one every year. Yesterday, I stopped at...
