Re: Machine placement on headboard

I have been using a bookcase as my headboard and my machine sits on a shelf that is higher than my pillow. I use a hose hanger that carries the hose higher than the machine before it gets to me and I have not had any rainout. I like my air nice and humid too.

Re: Hubby's Stroke (Update)

Thank you all! I know so many here have experienced difficult situations and have found strength in this forum. I count myself as one of those. Hopefully, I will end up finding a solution I can live with, which I know is the hallmark of this fine group.

Re: Hubby's Stroke (Update)

Best wishes from me, too. I was wondering though........did your husband use some sort of PAP device or not? Den . Although he has always snored, he has never been tested for SA. While we were in the emergency room, I noticed that he stopped breathing while sleeping and his SpO2 fell immediately. H...

Hubby's Stroke (Update)

I have not been on the forum much this year. In February I shared that my husband had a massive stroke and my attention has been turned towards his care. I think I've aged 10 years In the last 6 months. He has been in 2 rehab facilities and 2 nursing homes. At this time, his PT feels that he will ne...

Re: Confused by sleep doc's attitude towards AHI

I also have problems with air in my tummy. I find that elevating the head of my bed helps quite a bit. I started doing this after I had shoulder surgery as it took some of the pressure off my shoulder while laying on my side.

Re: ASV noise

Mine doesn't sound that loud, however it is slightly louder than my other machines. The switch from IP to EPAP does make a noise. My min PS is 5.5 so it should make more noise than your setting of PS 0. Take it to your DME and have them look at it. It may be normal and your hearing is very sensitive...

Re: ASV question

I have been on ASV for a year and a half. My machine was set to Bi-flex 2, and I found myself being forced to inhale too soon by the machine also. I fiddled with all the comfort settings and finally settled on Rise Time 2. It felt most natural to me. Since you used Rise Time before, it would be a go...

Re: Treatment Variability with Full Face Cushion for Quattro™ FX

I have used both the Quattro FX and the Airfit F10. On me, the F10 was too narrow as the corners of my mouth were right at the cushion's edge. I ended up giving that mask away. I agree that it takes a few days for the QFX cushion to settle in. I also boil my QFX cushion about once a month to revive ...

Re: PR S1 Series 60 Auto v Resmed unit

I have UHC too. After being told that I needed to do a 13 month capped rental, I contacted UHC and asked if I could do an outright purchase instead. I was told that I could. I went back to my DME and gave them this information and asked them to resubmit the claim to read purchase only (as per UHC's ...

I took Trazadone too for a couple of weeks. I had the same groggy headache all day and no benefit of better/longer sleep with it. I discontinued it.

Re: Can using CPAP cause you to roll onto your back?

I have a very expensive foam mattress that is wonderful other wise I would be in a lot more pain. It was my mother's before we switched her to a hospital bed and it was only just over a year old so we didn't want to get rid of it. We got it specifically for her hip and shoulder problems. For Christ...
