Re: Can bad CPAP treatment cause mental disorders or dementia?
I don't usually chime in, but this was my experience. I feel much better with a mask that has more built in ventilation i.e. I prefer the dreamwear to the p10. I always felt sick to my stomach with the p10. unless something was very wrong with your masks, it's not the vent rates, because, according...

I always felt sick to my stomach with the p10. Also, if it's whistling, there might be a small leak. If the mask is waking you up all night,...

Re: Newly Diagnosed Yesterday (still sinking in)
I am truly a newbie at this. The thought of wearing a device every night (possibly for life) when I am only 43 right now is really daunting at the moment Hi Gregory, I know that I was self conscious about the mask and machine, but I was no sleepy beauty snoring like a chainsaw! My family described ...

Re: HDM Z1 vs Transcend
I have a HDM Z1. I bought it for travel, but I have now adopted it for daily use. As long as I place it on a cloth or pillow, I have no noise complaints. I use an antibacterial filter both for filtration and a little noise buffering. My husband claims that it is quieter than my PR--go figure.

Re: Cancer Chemo & Radiation Treatment & CPAP
I had chemo and radiation about 4 years ago. Mine was for thymic carcinoma (thoracic area), so I was radiated in the same area. I was not on Cpap until after treatment, so I have no knowledge of that, but: after radiation, I had pulmonary fibrosis that made breathing feel like I was breathing throug...

Re: Are sleep labs used for breathing disorders only?
My then 18 year old son had a sleep study when he suffered with insomnia, along with migraines and depression. Most sleep docs are pulmonary specialists, but there are a few neurologists. The study ruled out apnea, RLS, and a few other things, but the neurologist was not able to recommend any treatm...

Re: My Z1 (Human Design Medical) 1st night experience
I don't know if this is a defect or not -- but look at my avatar picture. That is the tube adapter that you connect to the hose from the CPAP machine. See that little piece sticking out on the right? That think is literally blowing air out like I have a flat tire. It is extremely loud. does anyone ...

Re: My Z1 (Human Design Medical) 1st night experience
I bought a second hand Z1 that was sold because it was too noisy. I tamed the noise by using an inline bacteria filter (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Respironics-in-line-outlet-filter-bacteria-cpap-bipap-5-pack.html) and placing the blower unit on a pillow on the floor. I used it while travelling...

I am curious what pressures produce the louder noise. I can function at 8.5. Would that make the darth vadar noise?

Re: Tap Pap Rainout Issues
I love my tap pap, but moisture can accumulate. I think some of it due to the unusual shape of the space near the pillows. If I make sure that the entire hose is below my nose, I get a lot less moisture accumulation in the vent holes. I use very little humidification, I think some of the moisture is...

Re: Cage Match - Sleep Apnea vs. Upper Respiratory Infections
This is just my own experience, but here it is. I have a pulmonary fibrosis from radiation treatment, and I am on immune suppressants for an autoimmune disorder. Before starting CPAP therapy in July, I had 6 lung infections during 2013. Since starting CPAP, I have had only one, & I know where I c...

Re: Tempur Rhapsody opinions requested.
We invested in the Tempurpedic Rhapsody. We have no regrets. My husband likes an extra firm mattress, and he loves the Rhapsody. I do overheat, but I always overheat, and I have solved the problem by putting a thick mattress pad over the mattress. It gives a little space between me and the mattress....

The Resmed lettering on the pillow should be facing away from you.
