Re: AHI Went Up After Switching to New Machine - Help?

Either that, or desperately try and figure out something to criticize the better performing machine... *shrug* Even if it makes no sense and nobody else interprets things that way. *shrugs* You've got it all wrong PR. I was simply trying to understand want you meant when you talked about the "fast ...

Re: AHI Went Up After Switching to New Machine - Help?

If you need 18 to prevent events, that would not be overshoot. Tighten your mask to that pressure. If you are overshooting because of false events or some other reason (on a regular basis) why would you not just cap the pressure to a level you are comfortable with, and will prevent most events. The...

Re: AHI Went Up After Switching to New Machine - Help?

On the other hand, blowing the the mask off and causing major leaks can hardly be considered a "success." People who have pressures in the high teens, and indeed into the twenties would laugh at your hyperbole of "blowing the mask off". No Hyperbole - if you set the straps so that the leaks start a...

... Phillips Respironics: The Dreamstation offers the following: "DreamStation 12V Power Adapter for C-100 & Freedom CPAP Travel Battery Packs" (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/c-100-dreamstation-cpap-power-converter) specifically for use with BPS batteries. But like the Z2 above they ALSO offer t...

Re: AHI Went Up After Switching to New Machine - Help?

Interesting, how you refuse to see how the very study you cite says the respironics failed to achieve adequate treatment. I give up, some heads are just too hard. The paper pretty clearly says that this is a model and doesn't necessarily reproduce "human" results. And I freely admitted the if the i...

Re: AHI Went Up After Switching to New Machine - Help?

sorry for the delay - I was busy moving this weekend ... Sorry PR, your bullying tactics may work with the newbies, but not with me. "WAAAAAAAAHHHH, I have no idea what I'm blubbering about, so I'll call the other person a 'bully'" Spot on, capn, spot on. You're clearly wrong here and your rudeness ...

Re: AHI Went Up After Switching to New Machine - Help?

Sorry PR, your bullying tactics may work with the newbies, but not with me. You're clearly wrong here and your rudeness just shows your ignorance. I never said Dreamstation were "just as good" as ResMed (actually I may have but I'm far too lazy to look) but its been said here numerous times here. Wh...

Re: AHI Went Up After Switching to New Machine - Help?

Thanks so much for your kind words, Zonker! Since my last post, I went a second night at the higher levels but my AHI went up again. So I called the DME and am very happy to say that they agreed to give me a ResMed and to take back the Dreamstation. I'll be making the switch on Friday, but in the m...

Re: Aimton Power Station and Dreamstation Go Issue ?

I do a lot of travel/camping on my motorcycle and use to use an older CPAP with a DC converter cable made by the manufacturer and an Aimton Multi-purpose Power Station with great success. The old machine died so I bought a Dreamstation Go and the manufacturer battery to replace my setup. Here is my...

Re: Question for the Wisdom of the Group on Power Failures

I'm sure they are fine batteries for the travelscoot, but I couldn't find what their output voltage is, or whether there is an adapter for powering 12V appliances. My guess is that they are 14.8 volts or 18.5 volts so there is potential for an over-voltage situation with your pump. The roughly equi...

Re: Question for the Wisdom of the Group on Power Failures

The term "air travel approved" caught my eye. I would totally get the same thing, as the safety aspect appears to have been addressed. Just make sure the voltage going into the cpap is correct. No second chances there. "Travel Approved" as an exception when used to power a scooter; normally this si...

Re: Question for the Wisdom of the Group on Power Failures

The general best bet are AGM mobility scooter batteries. What would your view be on these lithium-ion batteries? (Yes, they're expensive, but no more than the dedicated CPAP battery I bought some years ago.) https://shop.travelscoot.com/us/accessories/lithiumbattery-283wh.html I ask because I have ...

Re: Question for the Wisdom of the Group on Power Failures

*MARINE* batteries, as detailed in Capnloki's thread, are specifically built up to handle the pounding that boats endure, and thus cost more money for the same power capacity. Many people confuse "marine" with "deep cycle", including, apparently, our noble host back in 2012 In fact, as you'll see i...

Re: DramStation Noise Levels

To answer the questions: One more question - what is the nature of the sound? air moving, or whining or humming? continuous or intermittent? varying in pitch? is it possibly amplified by contact with the table or wall? if it is coming from the pump it should be fixed - they should be near silent fo...
