Re: Positive effects of CPAP are wearing off

I have noticed that every time I increase my pressure, my leak rate goes way up. I also feel better, but my AHI goes up significantly too. Is the AHI increase related to the increase in leaks?

Re: Positive effects of CPAP are wearing off

No problem with limb movements. I just had a complete physical last spring, which is what convinced me to get back on the machine. I pull data off my machine using ResScan and that recent data when I've been feeling not so good doesn't look any different than the data when I was feeling good. I have...

Re: Positive effects of CPAP are wearing off

I was diagnosed in 2001, got a machine and used it for a while. Then stopped using it until this spring when I decided apnea was really effecting my life in a negative way. I'd like to get something smaller, but I need an Rx and I've been putting off seeing a doc, which is really what I need to do....

Re: Positive effects of CPAP are wearing off

Actually it never occurred to me that it might be apnea related, but then I started thinking about it and the piece fit. I started taking naps again, the old familiar fatigue, etc. etc. I am waking up a little more. When I first started on CPAP, I would wake up around 2 am, and then again right towa...

Positive effects of CPAP are wearing off

I've been on CPAP since May, and the results have been quite good. I've got more energy and stamina and generally feel more normal since starting on the machine. However over the past couple of months, I've started to see a return to the old days, where my energy tank is small and my body aches. The...

Re: Overnight results and software question

but I would like to lower my HI and my leak rates, but I'm not going to go crazy to do either. The older Resmed xPAP units used a different scoring approach to the current models, so your S7 HI score would probably come out at around ~1.5 on a contemporary xPAP machine. There's probably not a great...

Re: Travel CPAP Machines

I'm think about getting a more up to date machine that is compact enough to take with me on trips. The DeVilbiss IntelliPAP Auto looks like it is quite compact and light, so I am going to look into that.

Re: Overnight results and software question

I got a null modem to USB cable not long after I started this thread and I've been able to access ResScan via VM Fusion on my Mac without problems. My results vary quite a bit from night to night. My AI is usually around 0, but my HI bounces around a lot, as does my leak rate. I sleep well and feel ...

Does anyone sleep on their back all night

Before CPAP I used to toss and turn. Now I sleep on my back all night long. Does anyone else do this?

Re: Overnight results and software question

Thanks all. I think I'm going to call ResMed and ask some questions.

I'm also thinking about getting an new machine. Maybe a compact auto that's easy to travel with.

I don't care how rude the OP was, there is no call for many of the equally repugnant responses in this thread.

Re: BEWARE from BUYING at CPAP.COM

Wow a lot of vitriol in this thread. I think a lot of people on both sides came out looking like horses' patoots on this one.

Re: New user (1 month)

Wow!! thank you for all the quick responses. I noticed a difference when we remembered to wash the pillows lol!! The very next day is when it stopped sealing correctly. I will try some stuff and let you guys know. I had the same thing happen to me. There is an inner cone in the pillows that can bec...

Re: Leaks increasing

I had a problem with my nasal pillows after their first cleaning. It turns out there is an inner "cone" that supports the outer cone, and one of mine had become inverted when I cleaned it. I just popped it back into place and they fit nice and snugly again without a lot of pressure.
