Re: Sleeping Supplements

I have been taking 50 mg. of trazadone. Worked great for a couple of years. But as I am aging, I think it has begun making me dopey the next day. Stopped cold turkey, which was not wise...10 days of increasingly worse insomnia until I was still awake until 6 am. So I went back on 37 mg. and will try...

Re: how to clean gear after illness?

Those thrush lozenges are horrible, and for me, next to useless. I repopulated my mouth with used chewing gum previously inoculated by my husband. Recovery was almost immediate! I wonder if the good bugs would survive freezing. (thinking of freezing some of my used gum--just in case) The lozenges w...

Re: how to clean gear after illness?

My lungs were in such bad shape that they had to triple the prednisone dose they had put me on to help with my breathing. I am still tapering off of that. So I am immuno-suppressed...which is why I am worried about cleaning extra well. I had not thought to swap out my equipment. I will replace the m...

how to clean gear after illness?

I have been ill: head cold followed by bacterial lung infection and thrush (from steroid inhaler). Just off antibiotics, but I am still on the thrush lozenges and tapering off prednisone. I have soaked all my gear in soap and hot water and rinsed with vinegar water then hot water. I boiled my masks ...

Re: gabapentin increases deep sleep?

I have taken gabapentin for nerve pain from a back injury (100-300 mg three times a day) and for shingles (600 mg 3 times a day). For many months at the beginning of CPAP, I still was not getting good quality sleep. I had an allergic reaction to zolpidem (Ambien). My primary care physician (PCP) agr...

Re: Nuance Pro Question

My Nuance Pro headgear has stretched out a little. I don't sleep on my back, so I just gave the back strap a roll over, and it is snug again.

Re: In nasal pillow styles, what's better than the Swift FX?

I have used Swift FX, Nuance, and Nuance Pro. Couldn't stay with the Swift FX because I was between pillow sizes. I like the Nuance and Nuance Pro better anyway. The design of the pillows makes them more stable for my side and stomach sleeping position.

Re: Help me understand individual breaths

If I understand what you're calling a hitch, you really need to know exactly where -0- is (which will delineate inspiration from expiration).

I also have a hitch on inhale.

I have never found an explanation. The Resmed .pdf does not show this.

Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread

I checked this mask out at my DME today, but it was a no go. The pillows are sized the same as the Swift FX, and I am between sizes.

I sleep either on my side or on my stomach. I have used both Resmed Swift FX and Respironics' Nuance Pro and both stayed on.

I don't ever sleep on my back, so I have just been rolling the Nuance Pro back head strap over a couple of times to tighten it up.

Re: Cronic Dry Eyes & Irritating Ointment

Sodium chloride ointment is used to reduce swelling of the cornea. Decreasing swelling of the cornea may lessen eye discomfort or irritation caused by the swelling and works by drawing fluid out of the cornea to reduce swelling. Have you asked whether the irritation is from the corneal abrasion, the...
