Re: Can CPAP cause depression/anxiety?

One thing that I struggled with when I started therapy was caffeine - I used to drink a lot of coffee to combat the tiredness, and suddenly having my body not "need" as much caffeine meant that I got overcaffeinated very quickly and that led to jittery anxiety with heart palpitations and panic attac...

Re: What is your favorite full face mask with headgear and why?

The Mirage Quattro. It's a big, heavy, horrible piece of shit with like 84 parts, it's a nightmare to clean, the straps are horrible and stretch out like crazy within a month tops, but it just plain works and keeps the leaks in. It's the devil I know.

Dishwasher-safe reservoir for Airsense 10 - any rules?

I just dropped $40 on one of these because I'm really bad about hand-washing my tank; it's just out of my mind until bedtime every night. It came with zero instructions. Anyone have best practices for them? I'd like to start washing the thing at least once a week. I'm assuming top rack, and take out...

Horrendous 24/7 burping/gas and reflux from swallowed air

This has just gotten ridiculous for me, and I'm wondering what other people have experienced and how they've helped. I know that I'm experiencing aerophagia from my treatment because I wake up almost every day with my mouth open and so much swallowed air that I can do massive, trumpeting, fratboy bu...

Re: Audio Comparisons (MP3) of the AirSense 10 and S9

I think they're both loud as hell in real life. I have no idea why people think they're silent machines. They're pure Darth Vader all the way. Of course I'm 30 or 40 years younger than most people on here so maybe I have better hearing?

First night without CPAP in years = best night's sleep?!

I am maniacally compliant - so much that I've literally never missed a night on it since getting my first machine three years ago. But I'm moving across the country and due to a mix-up while packing, I packed everything but the headgear for my mirage Quattro. Naturally, I didn't realize this until m...

Re: Any Reviews of New ResMed AirFit F10

I used it for a month and now it's gathering dust. I sincerely believe that there's a design flaw - the two brackets on either side of your cheek (the ones the strap loops over) stick out too far for side sleeping. They'll press on the pillow and cause leaks. Why'd they design this this way!? Everyo...

Is my machine malfunctioning? Test/reset/etc/?

I'm concerned that my S9 Elite may not be working correctly, even though sleepyhead is reporting normal data. Here's why: 1. I've been basically feeling "untreated" for a few months now even though my AHI is consistently around 1.5 to 2.5 max. I wake up extremely groggy in the morning and feel tired...

AirFit F10 - almost completely using all water but dry?

A few months ago, I switched from the Mirage Quattro to the AirFit F10 mask on my S9 machine/humidifier. I've noticed that in switching to this mask, I now go through almost a full tank of water each night on a humidity setting of 4.5 - yet the air in the mask never feels particularly "humid" or moi...

Re: Apria or American Homepatient?

Thanks for all the answers. It really is so crooked and weird how DME's work, isn't it? Why is it legal for them to work this way? I called Apria yesterday and could not get a straight answer about anything - routed to person after person, from the 800-number to my local office and back, etc. and no...

Apria or American Homepatient?

Hooray, I have insurance again. Yuck - it's a new company (Aetna) that I've never dealt with and they're being clear as mud about what their actual policies are for equipment replacement. It looks like Apria and American Homepatient are their top two DME's, and I've never dealt with either. Does any...

Re: Cyclic AHI values?

My AHI is alllll over the place with almost zero change in lifestyle or behavior. I'll literally have a 3.5 one night, a 1.8 the next, a 0.2, a 3.0, etc. without any obvious reason why. There are so many factors that go into it.

trouble believing my 0 AHI's. Data inc.

This may be weird denial or something, but for the past 3 nights now I've had 0 AHI after months of being lucky to get under 2 or 3. I haven't changed anything other than my headgear, which had been feeling worn out. I'm still seeing leaks, though, but no events! This just seems odd - those leaks an...

Re: First 0.0 AHI = worst night's sleep of my life

Thanks for the feedback. I've been tweaking some other stuff about my setup and slept incredibly deeply the night I had the 0.2, so the tweaks are probably working.

First 0.0 AHI = worst night's sleep of my life

Well, that was unexpected. I finally got a 0.0 AHI after six months of monitoring my data and using an S9 Autoset w/ tweaking pressure ranges - and last night is one of those "worst night's sleep" ever. I made the mistake of having caffeine in the evening (around 8'ish...peer pressure!) when I norma...
