one last question: are there free downloadable printable tags, or do I need to go to a medical supply place and purchase them? Thanks.

First time flying with CPAP
Next weekend I will be taking my first airline flight with my Philips Respironic System 1 (2013 vintage). I don't use the humidifier in warmer weather so I'm just taking the unit, hose, mask and power cords. I have a carrying case but my gear won't take up the entire space, and I'd like to travel wi...

Re: Slightly OT: recs for blood glucose testing device
LOL, sounds like the strips are similar to the toner cartridges for the laser jet I use at work.....or razor blades..... I take Lisinopril for hypertension, my BP has been well regulated with it so far. You think I should mention to doctor? It's not debilitating but it's uncomfortable, especially wh...

Slightly OT: recs for blood glucose testing device
Haven't posted in forever, all is well with me and my machine, except my AC1 has gone up a bit and my doc has put me on Metformin (500 mgs). She didn't say anything about getting a glucose monitor but after three weeks on the drug I'm often dizzy or lightheaded when I stand up after sitting for an e...

Re: Dealing with Congestion
I have chronic congestion from allergies. Today it's really bad. I use a nasal mask (F&P Eson) and if I can't get air through my nasal passages I'm sunk. I use an OTC nasal steroid spray (Nasacrom/Nasacort/Flonase) once daily, either Allegra D (have to get it from the pharmacist, but it really works...

Sleepyhead software: how do I interpret leak data?
Haven't been on this board for quite some time. Got a new mask, F&P Eson, and I wanted to know what is an acceptable range for leaks on Sleepyhead?

Nasal congestion and nasal mask
Hi everyone, haven't posted in a while. Still looking for a comfortable mask that doesn't leak, on my fourth try now, Fisher Paykel Eson. I have chronic allergies and a deviated septum (not severe) that cause congestion. I'm usually okay with the use of a daily nasal steroid (OTC) spray, Allegra D a...

Sleepyhead can't find data on my SD card
Haven't checked my stats for a while on Sleepyhead, put PR System 1 Series 60 BiPap SD card in tonight and got a message that it couldnt' find my machine data since June 29. Tried reloading the SD card in the machine, same result.
Is it likely the SD card or the machine?

Re: OT: Looking for online forums for ischemic stroke
Actually, I'm looking for a general-interest, general audience forum/board for stroke victims, so I can learn a bit more about what to expect. Thanks anyway!

OT: Looking for online forums for ischemic stroke
Hi everybody. Haven't posted here for a long time, things are going well with my CPAP treatment. My ex-husband suffered a stroke last week and my young-adult kids are taking care of everything (he never remarried). I am looking for online information about symptoms, treatments, prevention of subsequ...

Re: Cant keep mouth shut
I had this problem myself! I started out with a full-face mask but it worsened my feeling of claustrophobia (my initial pressures were hurricane-force, 25 and 15), so I switched to a Wisp nasal mask. I liked this better but my mouth doesn't stay shut either. Chin straps wouldn't stay put, and I didn...

Re: Suggestions for bilevel machines to replace PR System 1?
Pugsy et al, thanks so much for your advice. Will check with sleepdoc but it sounds like my original plan, to just replace the bi-pap, is what I will end up doing. I will shop around for a new machine; if that fails, thanks for your suggestion about gently used. I've changed insurance carriers sever...

Suggestions for bilevel machines to replace PR System 1?
Hi everyone, haven't posted here in a very long time b/c I've been doing well I rent my PR System 1 Remstar Bipap 60 series machine from Lincare. Long story short, I've had my machine since May, 2013. My new insurance policy with Anthem BC/BS has a high deductible so Lincare is now deducting $110 pe...
