Oh, and one more thing. I'm not so sure about cats having staff. Mine seem to think that they have (or at least SHOULD have) slaves. I really hate being woken at 4:00 am, because someone doesn't think there's adequate food is his dish. It's not empty, mind, but he'd just rather have a bit larger amo...

WillSucceed, One of the cats is all white, and must have some angora or something in him. He doesn't have hair, he has fur. Super soft and comfy (but a pain to brush.) I keep telling him, whenever he's bad, that I could make some really nice garb from him - mittens, fur trim for a hat, whatever. He ...

CATS!!!

Ok, I was having problems back in January/Feb. when the cats learned how to turn on the heated humidifier. Whenever they got cold, they would turn it on, and lie down on top of the machine for a nice warm nap. I thought with the warm weather that the problem was solved for a few months. Well, last w...

AHI of 112 Titrated at a pressure of 16 to get AHI below 5. Without the CPAP, only stage 1 & 2 sleep. With the CPAP, I did get some stage 3 and REM - still not normal amounts, though. And no stage 4 at all. Debbie _________________ CPAPopedia Keywords Contained In This Post (Click For Definition): C...

Yes, I do think the high pressure caused the high CO2. I don't have copies of the test, so I don't have the exact number. My test wasn't quite as bad as yours, but almost - one of the machines broke, but they forgot to call and cancel the appointment, so they did half the test and rescheduled the ot...

I had the ABG back in January. My O2 was fine, but my CO2 was high. Now mind, back in June '03, my sleep doctor put me on straight cpap at a pressure of 16. I've said since that I have a hard time breathing out against that pressure. I have asthma, and a history of pneumonia, scars on my lungs, etc....

I've noticed that too, but with me it's a trade off. If I get less sleep at night, I have more energy in the morning, but I crash and have to drag myself through the mid-afternoon slump. If I get more sleep at night, I don't have as much energy in the morning, but I also don't have to prop my eyes o...

Buying CPAP equipment on line 1. Call your insurance. Find out exactly what is covered. Some insurance does not cover equipment. Most insurance does, but the amount and process varies greatly from plan to plan. 2. Ask if you must purchase in network, or if you can purchase from any supplier. Some in...

Hi Tumbleweed, I agree - vets are usually GREAT! The first time I met him, I told my cats' vet that he was LOTS better than my doctor. He took more time examining, discussed options, explained EVERYTHING to me, took the time to show me a couple of alternate ways to pill my cat, etc. Everytime I go i...

Most of the rentals through insurance are only rented for several months to a year, then you own it. If you've been renting for 1.5 years already, the machine should be (almost) paid for by now. Do you still have to pay for it or continue renting for a lengthy time?

Hi Jerry, What numbers specifically are you looking for info on? For instance, AHI is apnea/hypopnea index. The lower the better for this, preferably under 5. RDI is Respiratory Disturbance index. That's apneas, hypopneas, and anything else that disturbed your breathing and caused arousals (asthma, ...

That price is WAY too high. Most sleep studies run in the 2000 - 3000 dollar range, and that's the price they charge the insurance company. The insurance company usually only pays between 1000 and 1500 dollars. Personally, I agree with the guest who said get the prescription , and then get an auto m...

I find that when I'm sleeping better, I end up doing more - going up and down the stairs two or three times instead of trying to load everything into one trip, stopping at the store on the way home instead of doing without something until my regular shopping trip, etc. Not a lot more, but it all add...

It could be the change in machines. Each machine uses its own algorithm, and the different manufacturers have different formulas. Some people do better on one manufacturers products, while some people can use any manufacturer, and get the same results. You could be more in tune with the PB 420E form...
