Re: AHI and new machine
Pugsy has a great point about the tossing and turning. This is from a drug description site warning of side effects: "For people with breathing problems: Tramadol may slow your breathing and cause shallow breathing. Shallow breathing means you take small, short breaths. If you already have a breathi...

Re: AHI and new machine
My AHI always increases substantially whenever I take any opiate based med like Tramadol (synthetic opiate) or Vicodin or any other of that type of pain killer. Those meds supress your breathing and I'll hazard a guess that the increase in your AHI is primarily "central" although you might have an i...

Re: Use Any Mask with your AirMini
GE Silicone II clear premium silicone glue -- after its cured it does not give off any fumes, you can get it at any hardware store or probably even Walgreens or supermarket. The F20 AirMini hose does not have the humidifier apparatus to begin with, so no change in noise level or what I refer to as t...

Re: Use Any Mask with your AirMini
Yes, absolutely correct, the F20 hose is needed because it is also a proprietary connection at the machine end of the hose. What you will also get is the plastic elbow attachment at the mask end because it is a special mask elbow that is not the same as a standard F20 elbow attachment. That little e...

Re: Use Any Mask with your AirMini
No, the the very short hose attachment, which is the standard CPAP hose diameter, does not apreaciably change the delivered therapy pressure. I have a manometer (pressure testing kit) and the readings are no different with my setup verses stock slim-line ResMed AirMini hose. If you check the link in...

Re: Deciding between Z1 Auto and Transcend Auto
I have both....... The Transcend breathes better and is less noisy by a moderate degree. The Transcend has to be connected to a PC in order to set or change settings such as pressure, whereas the Z1 has buttons on the device and does not require a PC connection to set up or change settings. The shap...

Use Any Mask with your AirMini
I have a special need for a small ultra packable travel machine primarily for my extensive motorcycle touring trips where space is extremely limited. I started several years ago with a Transcend which frankly worked just fine, however, I got intrigued with the HDM Z1 and began to use it instead beca...

Re: z1 auto cpap airflow
I had the same issues with the machine until they came out with a firmware update that made setting 2 the easiest to breath on. So be sure you have the latest firmware and give the Z Breathe setting number two a try, you might also give 3 a try but others have agreed that 2 seemed the best. Good luc...

Re: AirTouch™ F20 mask
The AirTouch™ F20 uses the same frame and headgear as the AirFit™ F20, meaning that the cushions between the two versions are interchangeable. Existing users of the F20 can purchase the UltraSoft™ memory foam cushion to try on their existing mask, and users who purchase the AirTouch™ F20 can purchas...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions
Simple, effective solution to keep from pulling the unit off the nightstand when you roll over, you can get these Velcro hose alligator clips from our sponsor, they work great, don't take up any packing space. I use them with Z1 and have never had a problem pulling machine off the table..... http://...

Re: ResMed AirMini Specs & Update
Cardsfan, I have the same questions about the AirMini that you do and especially my concerns about the ability to use other masks with the unit or are users locked into using the ResMed masks that they list. An additional concern is noise levels, I own and use both a transcend, and a Z1 and the nois...

Re: Z1 Auto battery charger
Hugh, I have the Z1 and just wanted you to know that despite what the manual says you can indeed charge a battery in the shuttle without having the actual Z1 machine in the shuttle too. The manual is a bit misleading in that respect as it says to charge the battery in the shuttle with the machine in...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 has stopped transmitting. Any Advice?
The Airsense wireless connection is cellular (CDMA Cellular Network) not WiFi so don't bother rebooting your WiFi router. If you're really concerned about the wireless connection probably the best and only thing you can do is unplug your machine, wait for at least 15 seconds and then plug it back in...
