It doesn't really get any drier than here in Colorado. My humidifier was running dry when I used a full face mask because of the mask leaks. I would get maybe 5 hours max out of it. I'd argue that most people with untreated severe OSA would be lucky to even make it to 77. Age 67 seems to be a pretty reasonable time for a lot of people to expire with a myriad of causes that are apnea related.

When it's 8% humidity in the winter here I consider a heated humidifier to be a bonus.

Mine would make a super high pitch sound if it started leaking around the bridge of my nose.
The first time it happened it was so loud and shrill I thought it was the carbon monoxide detector going off.

I have not heard this kind of shrill noise from any other mask.

All u do is go to Sam's Club and get one of those 500 pre-cut foil sheet boxes and tape them to the ceiling in your bedroom. Problem solved.
